They won’t even do 20 gallons now! A Tacoma Prime would have a 13-15 gallon tank tops.

To mention them still having their “build it to break” concept of thinking and them starting to rust out after only eight years

I remember standing at the parts counter of the local Toyota dealer years ago and hearing an older woman somewhere behind me exclaim that her husband's 3-year-old F-150 was "now worth barely more than a bucket of ballsweat".

Its inevitable at this point. I think they will minimally need a Tacoma Prime or risk losing market share. 22 MPG wont cut it in 5 years.

Hands down agree on the PHEV part. Just don't see EV trucks being viable except to one or 2 manufactures. I hope I am proven wrong though...maybe solid state batteries will be the key.

Bingo!! I agree that Toyota is likely waiting to get the solid state battery into mass manufacturing. I can see Toyota then adding a PHEV truck to the line up. I hope it is soon. That is honestly what I was waiting on, but I couldn't wait.

Are any of the electric trucks today capable of pulling bass boats or campers very far?

Simple answer no. All sorts of folks pulling with Rivian and Cybertruck and the mileage sucks. I can not see any pure EV anytime soon being a replacement for at minimum hybrid.

No, because anywhere you would be going with something you’re towing is farther than the batteries capacity to take it there and back under loads double its weight

I had a fun adventure at the Steelership today, talking about a trail hunter that they had coming inbound in two days. and then they tried to pull their bullshit.
I ended up walking away. They tried to stick $1000 ceramic coating on there and then $2500 for I gotta have it fee, and then another 500 for some other bullshit putting an extra $4000 on the truck of an already inflated price due to port ad-on’s and I said nope, and walked away.
He says to me, well, you’re on Tacoma world. You know the guys are paying above asking value on these, and then I said no they aren’t, I know the dealerships are trying to get that and people just like me are getting up and walking away as I am right now

I’m curious if the TH on CarGurus under MSRP are just baiting customers and doing the same thing once they arrive.
Here’s one in Indiana for $3k off MSRP.

Well, they can keep it. I’m not that sucker. They took a $63,000 truck and turned it into a $70,000 truck. No thank you.

Trucks not there yet, it hasnt been ceramic coated, if you were truly interested, its not a mandatory add-on...
    Could have declined the ceramic...

You would be correct, it has not come in yet, and it would be the ceramic $1000, the nitrogen for $500 and then them also dropping a 2500 extra dollars above MSRP, I highly doubt they’re gonna come down $4000

sounds like youre just window shopping & finding excuses to say no...
You can refuse the ceramic & the nitrogen...
neither one of those have been done yet, thats a dealer add-on.
If you really wanted the truck now, you can decline the $1k ceramic, the $500 nitrogen....
Its not a mandatory, it's an a"upsell" that hasnt been done yet...
You can also put in an official offer refusing to pay their extortion fee...
Get an official denial from the sales manager, not the nobody salesman....
