I don't think you have a 10 foot "pole" to touch anything with. Let's keep to reality here.

My dealer finally called. I get to test drive a 24 Tacoma SR Extra Cab auto 4WD with a 6 foot box in the morning.

It took forever to get an old man truck in.

Interesting style Kia has going over there. Looks like Toyota global small commercial chasis that I think goes by several names.

Finally got VIN yesterday. Was due to be built this week #44 and it rolled off of the line yesterday with VIN serial number 012240 for Sport with I-force Max. If anyone is interested.

Now it should be another 4 weeks before I get it.

$1000 for some shitty dealer applied ceramic is such a joke too.

I started with nothing, no equipment and no knowledge, and I did my entire truck buying everything for $500 -- $350 of which was equipment. Now I've got the equipment, basic know how, the materials to do it. This isn't rocket science. It's not even that challenging if you're careful and methodical.

I wouldn't even do ceramic in the future. I would just buy some Fusso Coat 12 month wax. And just reapply every 8 to 12 months.

Yes, ceramic coating is bullshit. Anyone that has chemistry knowledge already knows this. It’s very temporary and with the acrylic clear-coats that are being produced today, there is absolutely zero reason for ceramic coating. Unless If you wanted to make your show vehicle shiny before a show. now me personally, I don’t do any kind of coatings. Like I said, with how good the clear coats are being produced today there isn’t any need for it. I do Claybar my vehicle once a year and I only hand wash shift once in the spring and once in the fall but other than that, I never touch the paint and my eight year old truck looks brand new as many have stated.

Not bullshit at all. 3 years into my current coating still beads like a mofo and paint is mostly flawless. My wife is 2 years into her coating and even better but went with a better coating than my trucks. The right application and coating it is far from temporary especially when comparing to traditional wax or sealant. And you are on some crack if you think current clearcoat is up to snuff. I have ceramic coated multiple vehicles including 5 Tacomas and all have lasted at least 2-3 years with minimal maintenance.

Now the dealership crap yes that is a money grab and BS. Its usually a spray on product and they dont even paint correct first.
