Toyota is very keen on moving their main product lines to the new Dynamic Force engines, and the new TNGA-F platform is specifically designed for them.
That means it's going to be some combination of the 2.5L non-turbo and the 2.4L turbo. (A25A-FKS and T24A-FTS if you want to look them up). The older engines don't hit the US EPA regulations for 2023 model year and later vehicles and will be gone asap. I'm a little surprised Toyota is "getting away" with still selling the 3.5 L in 2023 in the States. Maybe they agree with the posters on here who are calling the 2023 a "2022.5" and EPA is OK with it because the 2024 will be out early this year.

The 2.5 is also available in an "Atkinson all the time" version (A25A-FXS) that will likely be the one that gets paired with the hybrids in 2WD and maybe the lower trim 4x4s where fuel consumption will be the key selling point. Could also see that one being in the Sport models since they are still mainly street trucks.

The Off-Road might get to opt for the 2.4L turbo....and if there is a God, that's our only hope for a manual.

And if they decide to go head-to-head with the Raptor/ZR2/AT4X/Rubicon, the TRD Pro will have the hybrid with the 6-speed auto from the Lexus added to the 2.4L not for mileage but for "vroooom."

I thought you didn't like the new tundra? Unless you're looking at used tundras. My brother bought a 2017 tundra trd pro, it's pretty sweet. I just don't need that much truck, between the size and gas mileage.

I flip flop, growing future family, anticipating needs. Looking at this one currently.

That's a nice looking truck, have you driven it or any of the new tundras with the new powertrain?

I have not. Need to do so before I commit. Had a 2021 Platinum as a rental for a month and was a big girl.

id warn anyone looking at a 22+ Tundra to avoid any SR5 with cloth if you want power seats, rear armrest, and BSM.

I have a feeling the new Tacoma is going to look very similar to the one in that link. Atleast those images are very close to the patent leak.

I only dabble in the clickbait when I'm bored but if that autoev site has any accurate pictures whatsoever, I'll be highly disappointed in the iPad stuck on the dashboard and that alone rules out any chance of me getting a new tacoma.
I refuse to financially support any brand that aligns w/ that design flaw

Take an all new design and add that to the current fit and finish quality of the the 3rd gen. This new truck is going to be a disaster.

I don't know if new 3rd gen Quality Control is as bad as it's made out to be on TW? It might be worse. There were some fit and finish complaints on the early new Tundras.

There's no evidence that the new Tacoma is going to be a quality product, unless you go back to the old QDR Toyota standard. Which left the building back in 2020 when the world changed.

Having had a 16, 17, 19, 20 and 22 3rd gen I can assure you my 22's fit and finish is no different and better than my 16 and 17. Love these types of comments from people who have no first hand experience besides what they read here on occasion. Will the 4th gen be a disaster? maybe, I mean the new Tundra definitely has had growing pains, but so did all gens, I remember weak engine mounts and failing tailgates in the early second gens or massive frame recalls.

I think the next gen Tacoma will be a huge success. Just look at sales...they just kept getting better.

Will there be a few hiccups along the way? Sure, that's expected with a new generation and that's why I don't buy a first year model of a new gen. It's not a matter of a fit and finish issue, more of just problems that can arise, not just Toyota's part but suppliers/parts.

Must be the 23s then, most of those post are accompanied by photos. It's only a hand full of people. The fit and finish of Tacomas seems about the same to me, it's never been great but what I have expected from a NA market Japanese midsize pick up.

You sound like a Tacoma salesman, new Tacoma every year.

There aren't many products that are as good today as they were pre pandemic/inflation.

Where manufacturing is today combined with an all new vehicle, and people's over hyped anticipation for this new Tacoma. There's going to be some disappointment among buyers.

There was some complaints about the new Tundra. That might have been click bait BS, but what ever I saw seemed to be legitimate complaints.

There were changes in the new Tundra that made it less capable than the previous generation. I think the turning radious increased, and it's payload decreased. The bed is now composite, and the interior lost some room. The composite bed might be stronger than aluminum, aluminum creaks and squeaks when you walk on it.

You also have to consider the tooling and problems that can occur on the assembly line with an all new model. Toyota has been building the same Tacoma for nearly 25 years between what 3 maybe 4 different assembly plants?

Sure, this can happen with any manufacturer and as I stated it's part of the reason why I wouldn't buy a first year of a next generation vehicle.

I'll offer you the same as I've offered others. A friendly wager. Nobody has taken me up on it yet.

$100 says the 2024 Tacoma TRD Pro automatic MSRP will be less than $60,000. We're not talking about accessories here. You can't blame Toyota if you spend $10,000 on overpriced tube steps, bed covers, and bed lights.
