I feel ya, we have 2 close dealers (w/in 50 miles) here, one is terrible to buy from (ADM package nonsense, terrible rates, etc.) but has awesome service and pricing, the other is MSRP, super awesome to buy from but terrible and overpriced service dept.

My 2021 is coming up on it’s second birthday December 1st. I’m just getting ready to hit 20,000 miles. I’m good for a few years. :)

With Toyota, you’re paying for mechanical and electrical reliability. It’s not a Lexus. Shit might rattle sometimes.

My 2009 doesn't have any rattles whatsoever other than the one remaining cat heat shield that's missing a bolt.

What quarter of 2023 will the Gen 4 Taco likely be press-released?

I have not seen any official word yet. The 3rd Gens hit dealer lots around September of 2015.

Yes it seems the departments can vary. My local dealership has a great parts department. Super friendly, helpful, and best prices in a 20 mile radius. But every time I park in the main lot (ok I am still a customer!) I walk by enormous ADM on the window and a slew of hideous overpriced accessories. There is also a lot right within walking distance with used Tacomas being prepped-almost like they are intentionally controlling the supply to keep the price high.

I haven't tried the service department though but it sure makes me nervous.

Yea. We're on a different planet in a different solar system than we were in 2015. How long ago that seems...

Is there any chance whatsoever that we'll see a V6 (boosted or NA) in the Gen 4? Or is a boosted 4 all but a guarantee at this point?

    Thanks.

Doubtful, because having only one engine cuts manufacturing costs. Might be a choice between hybrid and non-hybrid though.

If we get a V6 option it will probably be on the TRD Pro only

Guessing it will be the hybrid 4 turbo with a different tune.

It is what GM is going.

“The base 2.7-liter makes 237 hp and 259 lb-ft of torque. Under the 2.7-liter Turbo Plus banner, the four-cylinder makes 310 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque. The top rung 2.7-liter Turbo High-Output also delivers 310 hp but cranks up available torque to 430 lb-ft.“

I just follow the crowd on TW
@Carmaker1 previously said that Toyota is planning to go "all out" on the 4th Gen. I am hoping that means there will be a v6, but who knows.

    lol!

and while the manufacturer cuts costs, it will raise prices to the consumers.

There's an auto industry insider on this website who has all but guaranteed the motor will be the hybrid MAX version of the 2.4L turbo'd 4 banger from the Lexus NX350h and the new 2023 Highlander.

    https://toyota-club.net/files/faq/21-09-20_faq_t24-engine_en.htm

Go take one for a test drive, the motor hauls ass.

I'm assuming the next gen tacoma will get a similar powertrain like the new crown has. Thankfully I got my V6 when I did!
