I could go for a Toyota Maverick. But I do like to sit high

I intial prediction for the 24 Tacoma reveal:
I’m going to like it a lot. Just from teaser photos everything is looking good.
Currently in 21 Tacoma, 14k miles, paid off, just hope it’s not so good I’ll want it as I’m really liking my 3rd gen, and do not want a car payment

I think we are the same person, down to paint. I have actually not been driving it to keep miles down just in case I do bail. Carvana upped their offer for my truck $4k, putting it at an acceptable point last week..hate to end it that way but I also hate to waste my time with a bunch of tire kickers trying to eek out another $1000.

I am guessing lots of coverage of Pro and Trailhunter, the various cab, bed, and drivetrain offerings (but not necessarily available configurations), top trim HP/TQ specs, the 2WD SR base price, and not a lot else.

Basically, enough to capture my curiosity, but not enough for me to decide if I am going to ditch my 3000 mile 3rd gen or not.

I saw on IG, Tacomabeast was in HI for the special event, not sure if we've nailed the location of the event yet, but safe to say it will be in HI!

Looks like that Kirk guy is at the MaunaLani hotel (Big Island) Couldn’t see the Tacomabeast vid/pic that you mentioned.

Someone in Hawaii should be seeing these things unloading if this is true.

Unfortunately I’m in AZ right now but if I was in HI I’m sure I’d be shooting (photographer) someone’s family or wedding at one of the hotels down the road.

The Mauna Lani went through a massive renovation not too long ago, it’s a very nice hotel.

TBH the Hawaii Taco owners aren’t very vocal on this website, the regional thread is pretty much dead. Crazy considering how many tacos.

Right. A Toyota Maverick priced from 29k-40k, Tacoma shifts upward from 35k to 60k.

And that presumably may drive 2nd and 3rd gen market value upwards given their capabilities are likely more in line with 4th gen (remains to be seen what payload and towing look like but I don't remember massive bumps for Tundra on that stuff, right?)

Which blows some holes in the predictions that 2nd and 3rd gen resale may fall due to the 2024's being a better truck. Really depends on where the pricing sits and that's only part market forces b/c Toyota sets MSRP and controls supply.

Kirk just posted a video a few hrs ago on the Lexus LC500 and I just asked if he was doing a livestream from there (Hawaii) and I didn't come out and say yes but said yes

1st and 2nd Gen still have good value, don't see 3rd Gen dropping in value.

Video was probably an old one from when they did a media day in Hawaii for the LC500.
I remember driving along and seeing two driving in the opposite direction, beautiful car.
Went fishing later in the day and chatted to the guy shooting this one in Keauhou Bay…

May have been old but it was just posted. And I wasn't after the Lexus I just wanted to see if he mention the Tacoma in it
