More likely that they are getting rid of the access cab. Will be a double cab and then a crew max like the Tundra.

I think the access cab is still going to exist but it's going to have normal opening half doors instead of the current hidden clamshell doors.

That is what I meant more or less. I just have a hard time considering that an access cab, but that may just be me.

I race bikes with a guy from Texas that works for Toyota. We were talking trucks as I just bought a new '22 Tacoma. I asked him if he had any word on the 4th gen. I told him based on the spy shots the scale of the 4th gen looks bigger. Especially looking at the rear doors. He said it's supposed to be a bit larger than the 3rd gen. So I think the spy shots floating around are probably representative of the production dimensions.

Not sure I agree with you on this. I mean look at that front window vs rear window. You can stitch the camo where ever you'd like. But those are actual windows. I find it hard to believe that's going to be a full size door....

Agreed, the shot from the other side showing the driver makes me believe that the door sizes aren't being obfuscated at all.

I think it's going to mimic the Tundra doors....full size front...smaller rear. I think that's the double cab.

If that's an access cab then the AC grew a bit. Which would be awesome. Because I wanted an AC but it was too small.

But I gotta think that's the new double cab.

I think the access cab wil be gone when the 4th gen makes it's debut. If there is more than one cab option, the shorter cab will probably have a forward facing small door like the Tundra. I think the small door looks ridiculous, but it may be more functional than the current rear facing AC door.

There's been discussion about a turbo 4 and possibly hybrid. The RAV4 Prime/NX450 powertrain seems very interesting. 302hp, full EV and quick charge capability. The CVT would have to be replaced with the 10spd which would probably allow a heavier Tacoma to match the RAV4/NX sub-6 0-60 times.

Perhaps a slight cosmetic change like the 2012 Tacoma.

aren’t they all going to be about the same? Turbo 4 Cylinders with coil sprung rear suspension. Maybe the only difference is the Toyota will be a hybrid.

I don't know if Ford is going coil spring, they might I haven't looked in to that. I doubt if they are.

Yes, the new generation of midizes seems on par with one another. Except Nissan, who might benefit from those seeking a NA truck.

That would be an improvement. I wouldn't mind if the tailgate was not embossed.

Why haven’t they created a 4th gen forum yet?

TFL wouldn’t be allowed to see those mules if the hype train hasn’t already started turning.
