The only thing I'm not happy with from the Hawaiian 2024 reveal is the Tacoma Hybrid battery takes up the entire under seat of the crew cab, which I assume renders the extra cab all but useless.

Even so, I'm now considering selling my new KIA Soul GT Line ahead of the release, and advertising my 2002 as soon as I can order one.

 

Most likely the fall/winter prior to the model year. Isn’t this pretty standard practice for vehicles?

 

I think that the 3rd gen Tundra is bring Toyotas numbers down in the complaint and quality department, maybe the Tacoma will go off without a hitch and put Toyota back closer to the top...

 

The hybrid won't be available in the Xtra Cab.

 

Saw this; definitely take it with a grain of salt. Dodge/Ram topping a quality list is like a chain smoker putting up the fastest freestyle times on your Olympic swim team.

My guess is that JD Power needs to adjust how it weights various reported issues, and would probably benefit by extending results to a 2-3 year rolling average. Otherwise, it’s awfully difficult to see the efficacy of any ownership survey proclaiming that a Mini or Jeep would be a higher quality first-year experience than a Toyota. Or Mazda, Acura, etc.

Not sayin’ that Toyota is perfect, but just sayin’..

 

That was an initial quality chart, meaning the first 90 days of ownership.

 

That at least might explain how quickly some seem to move up & down the ladder.

 

1st 90 days of ownership owners reported problems. Most of which have to do with infotainment interface. There is only a small window when the report takes place. Really can't get much from this report, other than owners reported an issue with their new vehicles.

Compare Alfa Romeo to Chevrolet, Chevy probably sold a lot more vehicles than Alfa. They probably sold more 1500 4x4 Silverados than Alfa did vehicles total. Yet Alfa had fewer reported issues.

Tesla and Polestar sold fewer vehicles yet have a high number of reported owner issues. JD says EV only manufactures sell too few vehicles to give an accurate rating.

This is probably the most usless information that can be gathered given the parameter of the study. I believe the information is accurate, but there isn't much you can do with this info. Other than pad your bonus if you are an automobile manufacturer exec.

 

Bought my 20 off-road fall of 19. Important to note that was before you could choose your gender. Man is this world fucked up.

That's a sweet ride, the mpg's have got to be horrible though.

Love the simplicity and you could do most all the work yourself.
