The Tacoma hasn’t had any real competition for years, it has really heated up recently, will be interesting to see if the others took a bite out of their sales numbers at the end of ‘24. Think GM and Ford’s biggest mistake was not offering any other cab/bed configurations other than DCSB, though heard Ford is bringing the Super Cab 6’ bed in at a later date.

While I think the number of trims and configurations for the 4th gen Tacoma is overkill, it will likely have its intended effect of squashing the competition, along with the introduction of (mild) electrification. GM came up "short" IMO.

In a perfect world, we'll still get the option of a Manual Transmission OR in an Extracab. (And by "we" I mean Canadians.)

Speaking of useful items why are we normalizing a shorter length bed as the “regular bed”. A 6’ bed is the bare minimum any pickup should have, there is nothing regular about rolling around with a wheelbarrow sized compartment where your truck bed should be.

Agreed. GM nailed it in the styling department and engine, and that’s about it.

I think these are initial production offerings, which means no Xtra Cab and no hybrid (and therefore no Pro and no Trailhunter) until April 2024. See earlier post:

Since the DCSB outsells every other config combined, seems like that could be considered the “regular,” even if you have a personal need for a longer bed

It's a $375 package. If I got a Colorado it would be a 24 since they're making the larger cluster standard now. The one in the AT4/Trail Boss is garbage.

When you say larger, you mean the full display like the ZR2/AT4X? If so, I thought that was odd but a good way to differentiate trims and get people to opt up.

I'm just going by the fact that tfl Andre has it and his trail boss didn't have the option .

Correct, the cluster in the AT4 with Premium looks just like a base Elevation, which is not great for a $48-51k truck.

Didn't they also make the back seats smaller?

Psychological thing like with NASA's urine collection bags. Truck buyers don't want to see "short bed" even though more than half of them buy it that way.

Leaf sprung rear suspension, no 6’ bed or extra cab. DCSB doesn’t work for me. GM might of lured me over if they had those options since Toyota killed off my favorite cab configuration the Access Cab. Which might not even matter, the wife is talking we hit the road in 2 years rather than later. Mid-Size isn’t big enough for the travel trailers we are looking at.
