They can't pair a manual as of right now with a hybrid. I think ibwatched a video that there is a rumor they are working on that technology though

That would be amazing. I can imagine its something a lot of folks would be supportive of.

Guess Toyota Engineers are not as smart as the Honda Engineers, since they had 2 different hybrid models with MT.

Or they don't want to spend R&D money on something that's gonna make up 2% of total Tacoma production.

I think it's some kind of safety nanny.

It's something particular about this configuration with the hybrid max in tundra/tacoma.

Once upon a time I reached out to Toyata HQ about this very question and miraculously got a response.

The answer I received was that based on their market research there simply wasn’t enough demand to warrant such a configuration.

The same lack of demand for Acces Cabs, and no demand for a manual OffRoad with a stick in the US? Toyota builds the OR AC, it's not like it does not exist. The AC sell out, and the AC manuals don't last long on the lot that's if they aren't presold.

Parking Support Brake System (I guess the "PK" is "park")
Works with the proximity sensors and can apply the brakes to stop you from hitting someone while you attempt to park.

Well I’m sure everyone here will absolutely love that. I imagine the next 2 pages being dedicated to the hatred of tech and how we wish we could have a heater and a key only.

Maybe, just maybe.... there's a hypothetical where someone (not me) might just.... want... to hit / push at some point? Just sayin':alien:

I also like the probably not-intended subtlety of the phrase "attempt to park" lol

If you are buying a truck to handle chores around the farm I don't think anyone would want that. I wouldn't want that on my TRD Pro - desert race truck. Many vehicles it can be turned off.

I know it's 'Muricah and all, but if I ever come across what I consider a non-legit road block in the sticks and start hearing banjo music I'm mashing the gas through whatever I need to :burnrubber::rofl:

Have any specs on the G4 traction control system been released yet?

This came to mind yesterday when, after it rained for the first time in a month, the rear tires of my G2 were breaking adhesion when I was trying to pull out into heavy traffic with an empty box.

If the G4 is going to have double the torque and the same (or less) ass weight, traction control is going to be important.

I thought this was rear park assist with automatic braking.

And for every 10,000 Tacomas sold less than 10 will be used for either of those purposes.

Turbo 4 or turbo 4 with hybrid assist. I don't think it will be too much torque for the Tacoma. Are people complaining about torque steer on the Highlander?

They sure won't there's probably more SRs hauling things around the farm than Pros ripping through the desert. Toyota always makes me laugh when they say the design language is desert race truck. That's probably what people are asking for, and I like the looks of a trophy truck, but I also want it to have the performance of a trophy truck under it. I don't need a trophy truck, a simple Hilux would do.
