I just say use them how you want. I had a ZR2 Colorado and only went off roading once. Now I hear that the new Canyon/Colorado isn’t allowed off road in Colorado.

I doubt it could be the same system, especially on the hybrid versions.

It would be very easy to cut all hybrid traction motor added power out in the event of wheel slip, so I don't think it will be hard for the computer to keep traction while traction control is on.

The full time 4WD in the limited would make wheel slip a thing of the past though

In the middle of AG country here, so many SRs here pulling ranch duty you can’t swing a stick without hitting one, plenty of Pros running around too, never seen one covered with dirt…haven’t seen one in the back country yet either, and I am in the dirt often. UTVs have pretty much taken over the off-road scene here. Don’t even know why Pro Tacomas even exist….all show and no go. You’ll tear it up if you try to run it like an UTV, as it is at best a mid travel truck, big deal.

Nearly all of the electronic safety systems can be switched off. Rest your pretty little heads knowing that you can still push things around on a farm.

How capable offroad do people belive midsize trucks are? More capable than a fullsize due to their size, but they aren't Jeeps or purposely built OR vehicle. Maybe Chase Merrill, sold his R1S skipped over the 3rd gen bought an AT4 and moved to Colorado.

They work pretty well, the auto braking and traction control has saved my bacon a few times. Though it would be nice not having to reset them every time you start the truck, then on the other hand maybe it is good they don’t, kinda forget they are there running in the background until you need it.

I've driven a few of them. When you floor it from a stop, it pulls to the side. Forget to check if they're AWD or fwd but yea, little bit of torque steer.

What does that mean? I just bought a 2023 and it’s my first new vehicle since 2006. My first time having all these safety features. What exactly am I supposed to be resetting? I’ve just been getting in starting it up and driving off. Are you saying that some of my safety features aren’t active?

Opposite, maybe I worded it wrong, resetting to your preferred settings, some I like having off, but have to reset to what I like every time I start the truck otherwise safety features are always on, Like adaptive cruise control, you have to press the button for 3 seconds to get it to switch to constant. Traction control and auto LSD you have to turn it off. Some you can’t turn off without getting into the computer, like the seat belt chime. There is a brake warning signal/buzzer if you get too close to another vehicle. Don’t think you can turn that off, haven’t mess with it. Think lane departure is one that doesn’t come on automatically.

Had a RAV4 loner for a week and a half, that thing would even tell you if you were entering a school zone, my truck doesn’t do that. It also had object distance warnings. Say if you were parking, it beeps at you if it thinks you are too close to another vehicle.

I came off a ‘99, so the nannying was a little annoying at first, but have gotten to used to it.

Haven’t looked in a month but agree. Guessing popular configs are spoken for and they’re trying to clear out the runts quickly before dealers have to stage them next to 4th gens at 5k off. Imagine some will be getting a pretty good deal on price and rate on white 2wd SRs.

I bought a 2023 OR with that deal 3 weeks ago or so. Actually bought it 5 weeks ago on that deal but it took a couple weeks for mine to come in. 3.99% was good for either 36 or 48 months.
