Lmfao wat. Inflation’s causes have many theories, but its existence isn’t in doubt.

also I’m not sure you know what a theory is

Inflation is irrelevant to pricing it has no bearing on price. Any manufacturer or seller of goods can use inflation as the reason to raise prices.

Six years ago $1,000 would get you a nice 65" TV or a month of groceries. Today you can get a better TV for $1,000 (or the same new TV for $800). But the same amount of groceries will set you back $1,300.

The 23 Tacoma costs more than a 22 Tacoma correct? Inflation gets the blame for rising food costs? This years Tacoma cost less than last years Tacoma when adjusted for inflation. The 1983 Toyota is more expensive today when adjusted for inflation? Yes, this is nonsensical.

What's the point of repeating 3rd gens are cheaper than old Toyotas when adjusted for inflation? They are at their highest price point for a design that was introduced in 2016. In 2020 you could get the same tech options that are available now for a lower price and much better rates.

40k in 2020 is worth $47k today. So, no, you couldn’t.

The OR trim for 2020 started at $34k. That’s $40k today. The 2023 OR starts at $36,700

That’s what MSRP is. Find a dealer with no markup. There’s a whole thread about those dealers.

but even if you don’t, you can find them for $40k, which is the same price as 2020’s MSRP

You won't find a single OR anywhere in the US eith a MSRP for less than $37,000.

If you bought an OR in 2020 you paid a lower price than anyone paid in 2023. Inflation isn't a factor when comparing prices $2$.

    You’re quibbling over $300. Stop

and yes, inflation absolutely is a factor. Just because you don’t think inflation should matter doesn’t make it so

It's a vehicle, not an appreciating liquid asset. Dollar value isn't significant here.
