I did just that the Fall of 2019. Still own it too, 2020 off-road.

Geeze, how'd you manage that? Was it a bare bones one? Those are hard to find near me. They always seem to have an extra $5k added in dealer accessories

Such a long drawn out play by Toyota. Hopefully B & P goes up soon though. After test driving the Canyon I do like the extra legroom, and finish inside.

It was less tech package and a great salesman, one of the best buying experiences I've endured.

Funny you should mention regen. I've been monitoring my regen status' for a few months using a bluetooth device and the OBD Fusion app. My "Average distance between regen" has dropped from 350+ miles to just 149.7 miles. That has happened alongside the dramatic drop in overall fuel efficiency, so I'm definitely a bit concerned at this point. Unfortunately, my closest dealership service department has been completely useless on this subject, so I'm currently at a loss as to what to try/do next. I might just trade it for a 4th gen Taco and call it a day, because fuck GM -- which is exactly why I'm back on the Taco forums. :D

That's some luck if I've ever heard it! It's a shame that truck is so hard to come by. I don't want all the extra nonsense. I just want the truck. I like the 4th gen, but I might go towards a 3rd gen once the new Tacoma goes on sale. Should be able to find a good deal

I personally don’t think that is a great strategy. It isn’t like inventory is just sitting all over the place waiting to get dumped at clearance prices. Dealers will likely mark up any remaining inventory because they know some people will be looking for the last 3rd gen units.

I agree. And also because the 4th gens will be so scarce. No one is getting a deal on a Tacoma for quite some time.

Nissan will probably be able to get away with charging more just because of the new Tacoma hype.

Well this is disheartening to hear. Might check prices on the 3gen, 4gen, and hell, the Tundra. See what I get for my money. Plan out the drawing board :pccoffee:

    Simple OME/884/AAL lift. 32” WP’s
Tundra SR5 4x4 Crew cab with the simple SX package at 52k is prob where I’ll land if the taco clusterfuck is what I think it’s going to be. Not treating a mass produced truck purchase like ordering a custom racing Porsche.

Had a guy offer me $1,000 more than I paid for my truck last Friday and I passed. Can’t replace it, impossible to find and the same 23 is quite a bit more.

My dealer has Taco's at 0% right now. That's clear out pricing IMO.

@ScootARoot It is the dealer you were talking to me about before...

I am seeing plenty of used 2022 and 2021 models on Toyotas used lots selling for much higher than what I purchased my 2023 trd off road model for. People will still want a 3rd gen when production halts and I think they may still bring a premium.

This is just speculation, just like the folks who scare people into thinking that the truck is going to be uber expensive. Just wait ans see.

lol exactly… the prices r gonna be $2-3 grand more than whatever the similarly optioned 3rd gen currently is. Go on the builder for new Ranger and Colorado -they are not drastically different than what the going rates were before the new gens launched. Plenty of dealers do not add markup to vehicles don’t be one of the idiots that pays a penny over MSRP.

A penny over MSRP? I want to pay thousands under MSRP.

lol so does everybody else but that doesn’t exist in today’s market and especially not with Toyota, in particular.

Nationwide 3.9% finance ends 10/1. The 2024 prices likely get revealed in October.

There are a few decent new trucks unsold in my area but expect to pay MSRP or higher. Your mileage will vary.
