Terrible video edits. There are quite possibly three different sources in the discussion about the seats.

When Toyota gets off their ass and posts real info, we’ll see if those desert racing seats are optional.

If the seats are optional, nobody will buy them, and Toyota (now) knows that.

That's my latest thinking on the matter.

If I could put them in my LC I would. All that bouncing around on the rocks. Ouch.

I'll admit that I'm real curious as to how much they'll dampen on-road bumps.

Pro: $57,500 out-the-door and 26 MPG combined. Would you buy it?

^No way Toyota will sell it for that little when the Ranger Raptor is $57k before options and taxes.

But no, I still wouldn't buy it. If it isn't available in extended cab long bed config, it may as well be dead to me.

Not a chance, but I’d buy a base TRD OR for $40-45k with similar mpg… or better yet, an SR manual for $35k or less with similar mpg

They will be optional and every distributor will make sure you buy that option since that is all they will order.

An sr manual for 35k + taxes might actually be possible if the discounts return instead of the overage charges that were happening the last while

    No

But I'm very basic and have no interest in getting rid of my 3rd gen

Good luck with that. That's still too much, but the posture now has dealerships charging 3-8 thousand over MSRP

The non-iso seats shown didn't have red stitching. Definitely not a TRD Pro.

Right but that’s with auto so manual should be right around $35k if it still existed for current gen. Also needs to be competitive with other new mid sizes and that’s about where they land. If SR manual ends up less than $5k savings vs base TRD OR though then it’s prob not worth it based on just resale value alone.

Raptor is in its own exclusive marketing class, Pro is not.

Note that "marketing class" is not to be confused with technology class, performance class, reliability class...

I think I'd rather buy a TRD OR and mod it the way I want to end up at the same value.

The marketing folks at Toyota appear to think the Pro is in the same marketing class as the Raptor:
Brand name suspension with twist knob - check
    33" fake-MT tires - check
Wider track and bodywork - check

But we have the party-trick shock absorber seats! We have hybrid power! We're better! We can charge more!

I'm sure the dealers will then jump onboard with $10k market adjustment.
