I like the greenish color. White does look nice.

That Tundra performance package is crazy. Excited to see them incorporate a performance package on the Tacoma.

“421 horsepower at 5,200 rpm, while peak torque comes on 400 rpm sooner, delivering 479 lb-ft. of torque at 2,000 rpm”

“On the i-FORCE MAX Tundra, the kit boosts horsepower from 437 to 469”

That’s the downside. I’d have to see the numbers on HP and torque on the Tacoma to determine if I want it. Full Factory backed warranty too. I saw somewhere that they did all this with I think was an intake, high flow cat and messing with the ECU.

Tundra TRD Performance package is $3K for 32HP (8.2% increase). TRD cat back exhausts are about $900 and add 0-5HP. TRD CAIs are about $400 and add 0-2HP. A CAI for the twin turbo is dual intake (?) so double the cost? $1,500 for "parts" and $1,500 for the software? Most if not all the power is coming from the software. If TRD doesn't debundle the performance package I'm sure the aftermarket will (but no warranty).

Premium required? or would the ECU/knock sensor automatically dial back the timing to work with regular. Maybe only a 20HP gain?

Bottom line though. It's nice that Toyota is at least offering engine performance packages.

Where did you get the price? I don't think it's even online yet for the builder

The stupid thing is nobody will feel an 8% power increase. All they'll notice is the more sensitive throttle, which you can get with any of the popular tunes on the market. But such is the baggage with OEM certification nowadays.

    1. Has a 3.4 Twin Turbo with the above mentioned performance kit making 421HP. I can't imagine them offering a V6 on the new Tacoma right after they dropped it. Why not have a Tundra with a perf kit and a Tacoma with a 2.4T perf kit?

    2. Has the Iso Seats. Gotta recoup the R&D, offer it on other trim levels.

    3. Has color keyed wide flares. Not shiny black, not flat black. I like that.

    4. Has color keyed door handles and tail gate latch. I like that. Black looks entry level. Previous Tacomas came with black handles and later/upper models got the color keyed upgrade. I can to see the 2026 ads: "Now with color keyed door handles" (trade in your two year old truck, it looks dated).

Uhhh yeah getting the manual because it’s clearly more fun to drive, nothing to do with mpgs. Couldn’t even imagine my old 3rd gen with an auto instead of the manual. Bronco same thing.

I agree with that but to bad they make you get the 4cyl in the bronco if you want the manual.

Seems self-correcting. If the dealers are still asking for ADMs, they’re probably getting them.

It'll look even better with about 99% less Armor All as well.

I mean yeah but I wouldn’t pay more for the v6 anyways… the 2.3 has more than enough power in stock form and the factory ford plug and play tuner bumps it up to 330hp and 385 lb/ft for a measly extra $700. Would be great if Toyota offered a factory calibrator too but we all know that won’t happen.
