Or just keep driving your V6 since it will likely be more reliable and have better longevity with the same MPG.

Or get a Ridgeline with it's lockable under bed storage or an suv with lots of out of weather lockable storage and tow a small utility trailer if you ever find the need.

Sure but we are talking about the 4g in the 4g forum, so obviously that’s what people want to talk about.

after all, you bought a 3g instead of buying the most reliable of all Tacomas, a first gen 2.7.

95% of us would be better served by that than any Tacoma

As unbelievable as it may sound, some people do actually use the bed of their truck to move big or dirty objects rather than just to look cool on instagram.

4G is definitely growing on me, much better with a lift and larger tires.

The Lightning is a bit doofy looking with that light bar thing, looks cheap. However do like the F150 too, and yeah their wheel arches are getting a bit long in the tooth looks-wise.

Nice to see you two are still fighting like an old married couple. Lol!

Bummer they put the battery in the cab, makes sense to keep weight centralized and protecting it from the elements. Have zero interest in the hybrid though.

Added a couple DeWalt tool boxes to mine. Use those more than the trucks cubbies, nice to grab and pull them out to where I need the tools. Plus usually have totes on top of them and totes that live in the bed, but have a topper too. Probably could really use a service body for all the crap I carry. lol!

See that GFC added a tool box option to their camper/topper, that is kinda cool, especially if you’re constantly grabbing tools or whatnot.

This would be extremely useful, but since it would be mostly fluids for the dirt bike and chainsaw, envision that stuff spilling and dripping all over the bed. Even with absorbent mats, best to keep that stuff low in its own tote in the bed.

Probably. I looked hard at the Ridgeline, size is nice, subdued looks, great storage. The undercarriage wasn’t beefy enough for my liking, too many dangly bits to get ripped off in the dirt.

No 6’ bed was the ultimate deal killer, that and the mpgs weren’t all that much different than a Tacoma. Do like the Honda though.

Ridgeline has a greater payload than the 3rd Gen Taco, so it would be better at hauling dirty loads like firewood, then if you were smart you would of filled the trunk with ice and beer to enjoy after you dumped the load. :D Now that they bumped up the payload on the 4G, doesn’t matter much other than where to stick a cooler for yer beer…

Where have you been? You’ve been gone a long time and still no useful info has been released from Toyota.

As unbelievable as it may sound, I didn’t say every single person.

Even a significant portion of those people who move things would be better suited by a ridgeline and a small trailer. Nevermind that the ridgeline has a higher payload than your truck

The Ridgeline would be fine for most days but I wouldn’t want to drive it on the beach or tow my boat. Weekend fun.

Super busy summer riding dirt bikes/traveling/camping plus getting a side business up and running. Had the day off and was going to go riding today, trying to get a couple last rides in before the snow flies, but it has been pouring rain.

Yeah weird there is no builder up on the website yet, Toyota can be an odd duck at times. The 4G still is a little bizarre looking but it has grown on me. Still think a Tundra is my future rather than another Tacoma. See ARB has a new bumper for it, hides most of that gawd awful grill. Need a double cab with either the 6.5 or 8’ bed though.

As a daily it would be fine, it is the weekend warrior stuff where it looses it for me. Crossed shopped Subaru Outbacks too, but in reality need the bed space for hauling stuff more than I do hauling people. That is even augmenting with my 5X8’ utility trailer, sometimes it is nice not having to tow anything and just toss crap in the bed of the truck.

    @Turd Ferguson

Have these totes for tools, fluids (mainly for the dirt bike and chainsaw)…and camping crap. Have two more 10 gallon ones in the cab. Like the size and shape, but wish the plastic was a better material as it shatters real easy. Bought them in a pinch for a trip and haven’t looked too hard for replacements. Have Windoors on the topper so relatively easy access for what I need.

A flatbed with a canopy would be awesome, can’t justify the cost for the little bit of convenience. Think the flatbed is $13-15K alone….yikes!

I have storage bins for different activities like beach or camping but they live in the shed when not needed. Different stuff than what lives in the truck everyday. I can just grab them for whatever activity I’m doing. The Plano sportsman truck is nice. It’s tough plastic and has wheels.
