That all cheap looking plastic on the red truck was an eyesore. I don't mind as much in the white base truck pictured since work trucks tend to look a certain way. The one I saw in person looked bed. I'll take rock chips over that everyday.

I drive an OR, so I like cheap looking plastic on a truck, just not yards of it I guess.

It really bugs me that the bed rack is not the same height as the cab rack. Hopefully toyota thinks about this as I like the look of the factory cab rack and it would be nice to have a matching cap rack.

Otherwise I will just strip off my Prinsu racks and hope for an aftermarket solution on the 4th gen to reuse them.

Am I the only one who thinks it’s odd that the content creators *still* haven’t been able to drive the truck?

Based solely off history they must be plastic. It would defeat the purpose of they were metal..unless they were Jeep style tubed flares

Weird, was thinking how nice the lines of the cab flow with the bed rack. Don’t most of the people who use bed racks put a RTT on them? any higher raises the COG. That and not everyone runs a cab rack.

Personally prefer toppers over bed racks, easier to keep the elements out of things.

yeah different strokes fore differently folks.

Here they chip seal the roads, plus I drive a lot of gravel roads. My vehicles get peppered, that unpainted front end would be kinda nice for that. Not that it matters, not going to buy a GM just for the grill, and usually slap on a winch bumper on my trucks anyways.

Or are they like the base 3G SR? The other trims get a plastic flare over top of what is pressed into the sheet metal.

Watched and paused that video a few times and still can’t tell.

Cab to bed rack I agree, it looks great. Not so much once the cab rack is added though. I'm not in the market for a bed rack or RTT, so maybe I just don't get it.

No because they literally started producing them last week. I believe someone posted on here to that fact

Metal would rust as well, especially if water got in there

Had a roof rack on my 4Runner, discovered I don’t really care for putting stuff up on the roof. Just means I am carrying too much stuff. If I don’t have the dirt bike with me, surprising how little I bring.

Liking GFCs new Turbo Cubby, more practical to me than bed or roof rack for ease of getting things. Had bedside tool boxes on my old F250 work truck, super handy having tools right there.

Anyone notice the “extra” paint or paint protection on the rear door and bed? On the door you can see ARB faintly.

Yeah, wow. Seems Toyota is going all in. Cashing in on the overland craze to the point of offering bed stiffeners in the back and in the front! Who will be the first to complain about MPG's once they max out their SR5 with every accessory while financed to the max.

I cut down a piece of ductwork and made my own shelves on my cap. I felt like the $350 ARE wanted for built in shelves was too much, so I made my own. They are extremely handy though. If you buy a cap, get shelves for sure. I put the parts I use commonly for work there so they are easy to access.

I haul ladders, pipe, lumber and kayaks on my roof, so I like a long roof. I need to keep my stuff dry and secure, so no bed rack for me. I just wish the bed rack and cap rack on the Toyota was level so I can see if there is a better way of doing things.

I’m talking about the pre-production trucks.

The ones that the creators have been filming for 6 months now.

Toyota Tacoma Tacticool Molle panel edition.

Even better is you can finance all these doodads when buying the truck. Some buyers are gonna take a beating on these things and have half their payment be for overpriced options like coolers and bed racks.

I think it’s all a vinyl wrap for a SEMA truck.

On one hand they seem to be really paying attention to their customer base, on the other, they are a bit late to the party. Seeing an awful lot of barely used overland gear up for sale. Wonder if the fad is finally fading.

Nice cap! Yeah not a fan of bed racks, not sure why they are trendy, waste of space, can’t get into the bed from the sides, everything is exposed to the elements. Even if it is all in weather proof boxes, still have to handle those filthy boxes to get in them. The one thing I am not seeing are gaskets on the GFC side doors. Not sure how they are sealing out water and dust, or if that is even a concern.

Have a cap already with windoors with totes in the bed, works well enough for me. Though always looking at different solutions. Considered putting a tool box on one side, but then it takes up too much interior space if in need to haul something large like furniture. Totes I can yank them in and out.

Used to put bikes and kayaks up there, now have a trailer. That climbing up and down got old for me (and well so did I).

Saw this on The Overland Market Place. Nice sealed door. They want $6K for it….it’s cool but not $6K cool. Think I am fine cooking on my tailgate and digging through my $15 totes. Ha ha! That and having a stove at chest height is odd.

ARB had a Ranger there too, the wrap on that was a bit more pronounced. Sorta similar design just with more contrasting colours.
