    agree with everything.

coming from a sports car this seating is fine. Yes, there is less height between the floor and the seat bottom but it’s not uncomfortable. It is however one of the big reasons for good ground clearance.

drum brakes on the rear are perfectly fine. You would not notice any difference and the braking of the truck is not affected in any way. Disks only offer better pedal feel and the tears have little effect on that. Actual braking power is unchanged

loved my life in northern states, never needed a rear defrost on a pickup. Car, yes, but not a pickup

Don't know why Toyota stopped making trucks like this? 2dr, compact, 4WD orientated, and bad ass.

These things are ok but, sunroofs, leather seats, and adaptive cruise control is not what I'm looking for from a compact truck.

That’s not what most consumers want I’m guessing.

Personally I wouldn’t survive with a compact 2 door truck.

They still do, just not for the US market. LC70 with a tray back.

It would be nice to get rubber flooring and vinyl seats in the Tacoma, but oh well. Kinda diggin the adaptive cruise control, since I used to hit the coast, now it does it for me. Use cruise control to keep me from getting speeding tickets, used to rack those up like crazy. Not much in a hurry these days.

92 is sweet. I love the fox body mustangs. Rarely see them anymore, most of them have been wrapped around poles. One of my dream cars is black fox body cobra, seen a couple around here  The exhaust sound…

How come you sold the 2002?

Compact trucks aren't for everyone. People in the 70's & 80's made them work. What's changed that people can't use a compact pick up today?
LC70 would be nice. I doubt if anyone driving a Wolverine today would be capable of speeding.

So you can’t make a 4dr truck work? I do it all the time, my truck bed looks like it’s 10 years old, which I don’t mind at all by the way.

Don’t understand this common notion that you need a “long” bed (6ft), vinyl floor liner, 2 doors, manual windows etc to do work.

Some folks can’t afford 2 vehicles, so I have one for pleasure and work.[/QUOTE]

I saw one yesterday - its like the tail lights were inspired by the avalon. Nothing should be inspired by the avalon.

Lusted over LC70 for years. Had a few regular cab trucks over the years, sold my ‘92 Pickup to buy an extra cab ‘99 Tacoma…do like that extra space behind the cab for all my crap, especially for tossing MX gear bags. The access cab is especially nice for that. Don’t think I could back to a RC.

Mainly use the cruise in town for speed traps, the road by work is only 35 and they’ll pull you over 1mph over. I watch them all day long picking people off.

If you think about it, a 5’ bed is compact…

In my old line of work, even 8’ beds weren’t enough. Most of our dump trucks were 12’ or larger, plus cargo and box vans. Started buying Toyota’s as my daily, cause it is tiring driving big heavy trucks and equipment all day, nice to jump into something small and car like to zip around in at the end of the day.

You are 100% right that 5’ is compact.

My response was mainly to make a point that Tacoma’s are not the best “work” trucks. They are awesome for light duty work, no question about it.

A proper “long box” on a pick up is 10 feet in my books.

I have a company full size van 5 days a week now which is great, but my taco does everything I ask it to do, moving furniture, gravel, dump runs, etc, never lets me down.

 Yep. They’re pretty good for home owner small projects, I’ll do that, haul firewood, dump runs, etc. My 5X8 flat bed moto trailer doubles as a light duty hauler for the nasty stuff that I don’t want in the Taco. It is like having a full-size truck bed without having to own a full-size truck.

Used to have a ‘85 4Runner, there have been a couple times I took the top off, threw down a tarp to haul dirt or gravel…and thought I really need a truck with a separate bed, and now the nasty stuff duty is for the trailer.
