4th gen vs 3rd gen BED dimension measured

Had an opportunity to measure the bed dimension of a 4th gen and 3rd gen TACOMA side by side, here it is.

 

So the total volume is approximately 1057L on the 2024 versus 1000L on the 2023 and earlier. Both volumes will be smaller due to the intrusion of the wheel well.

On the 4G the wheel well measures approximately 8.5" height, 23" deep, 5" wide. so that takes out 32L of space.

4G the total volume is approximately 1025L.

However if your goal was to haul 1 million M&Ms, the third generation will only fit about 1 million but the 4th gen will fit almost 1.1 million.

Neither truck will be able to handle the weight though as this is a 2200 pound load. So in reality, both vehicle vehicles are capable of hauling the same amount of M&M's.

In other words, yeah there's more space but its not substantially different.

 

When I have my Free Candy sign out at the mall, I don't really have any candy

 

Extra box capacity will come in handy when Costco has a sale on 100lb bags of puffed wheat.

 

Just don’t go driving your M&M laden truck down the street offering candy to kiddies. You may end up without a truck and your life!
