It's a multi phased bill for infrastructure. It's more than stringing power lines. Solar, wind, hydro are part of the solution not the only solution. More coal plants will not be built. Sorry.

Urban and downtown city areas experience the most problems with electric delivery. The old underground lines often fail. Those seem to be repaired quickly, but I don't think the replacement of those lines are on any to do lists. Are there any plans to upgrade those systems, to support more demand?

    4. Drum brakes are good.

I'm not here to discuss politics. Much of this is taken care of in the private sector. As I said, technology will continue to evolve. Both in the world of EVs and in the world of energy production. Keep in mind most people who argue against this use current technology and infrastructure as their main argument and completely ignore how things change over time. The current network of gas stations, pipelines, power grid, etc. didn't always exist and certainly didn't pop up over night. As people have consumed more and more power, companies have always worked to meet or exceed demand and grow for the future. They will continue to do so.

Yeah, wildfires in CA are starting down a completely different rabbit hole. But, again, technology will continue to evolve and infrastructure will change and expand as necessary.

Just like it took time for gasoline infrastructure to evolve so will the EV infrastructure.

That’s true but it evolved over several decades. This new power consumption problem has to be fixed in less than a decade.

It will be. I don't know if you've taken a look at the stock market or your own stock portfolio, but the market has already spoken. EV's are coming, regardless of what you or I have to say about it.

The federal government, the entire West coast, the majority of the millenial and Gen Z generations along the rest of the world want EV's to become reality, especially after experiencing the sting of rising gas prices and concerns about energy independence from the rest of the world. That's a lot of f'ing purchasing power and there's a lot of profit to be had as a result.

Sure, there will be problems, and just like every challenge we face, we will overcome them or adapt. Nothing new here, it's the (North) American way. I think you're underestimating our capitalist market's ability to quickly adapt to seize a golden opportunity to make some serious, nearly infinite cash flow from renewable resources.

Has anyone looked over Toyota's patent for a new engine concept? From what I understand, it will be a gas engine that functions like a diesel. I wonder how long before we see something come out?

Whatever the 4th gen is it had better not have that super ugly Tundra mustache grill. Not sure who approved that design decision.

I hope they don't axe the access cab. Not everyone has a need for a 4 door pickup.

    This guy gets it.
I can tell you for certain the infrastructure is not being dealt with, not in the Northeast at least.
Thats the heart of the issue right there. We can have all the 'new technology' we want, that doesnt do shit to physically design and build new things. Be that power lines, power plants, whatever. All takes time, lots of time in the utility world.

The money for the Bipartisan infrastructure bill is still being distributed. So they can't deal with it just yet.

Here is what never gets said, or at least not for 30 years..............EV is only meant to be a transitional "short term" alternative. Now with the cost of infrastructure and R&D it will be with us longer than CNG. We don't produce enough electricity now to meet the demands hence the rolling blackouts seen around the country in the last few years. The power company are/have changed the buy back equation for roof top production so payback is longer as a disincentive for installation. The fast charge EV station are already the abandoned Phillips 66 gas stations of the future before they are even built. There is 287 million cars in just the USA and we are going to produce enough electricity to power them? Who's zoom'n who?

No, making the electricity will be the easy part. Won't be carbon free unless and until there is more solar and other renewables. And we could really use the new modular nukes. But the extra demand from EVs will grow slowly... probably more slowly than people believe, and the utilities will be able to keep up. Don't forget they will be making even more profits so they will be on this.

I’d like if the made a TRD “Work” that came with brake controller and heavy suspension.
Not everyone wants a big truck.
