I was at this dealer two weeks ago getting an oil filter. I counted about 15 new Tacomas on the lot. Their website said they had 14 in stock at that time. Mainly they were SR5’s with a couple Sports/Offroads.

They are showing 18 in stock now with a chunk being Offroads. Might be worth checking them out if anyone is in the market. I don’t buy from them as they don’t haggle. You can do better elsewhere usually and maybe that’s why they have so many.

The other local dealer had about 12 sitting on their lot about a month ago when I was there. Not sure how many they have now. Their website currently shows 33 in stock but pretty sure that isn’t accurate as none are showing in transit.

Edit: Damian shows 17 in stock (11 of those with pictures). 5 being off roads ranging from 45-50k with $1k discounts.

Yeah lol! I had a few STi's back in the day, so I've had a lot of good times in a Subaru :) Plus we live in an area that gets quite a bit of snow in the winter so a 4wd/awd vehicle is important. What model did you get your son?

Any idea on what the breakdown looks like? In TN I can find SR and SR5s all day long. Sports and ORs too as long as you dont want a non boring color or premium. Tempted to go get a Sport Premium bronze that is $3500 off MSRP this weekend....but holding out for an OR.

There was a time when people didn't take out loans for cars. Then it was a 2 year loan. Same with cell phones. Society is going to eventually adjust to the idea that a 12 year loans for a car is normal.

Just some 35% tint to match the rears and some 285/70/17 Falkens…
Take any object....anything at all...it is only worth what someone will pay to have it.

My guess is they'll only discount them by a few thousand bucks and people will start snatching them up. In all fairness, the 4th Gen Taco is a LOT MORE TRUCK than any Tacoma ever made. And I have owned every generation since the mid 90's. It's not even close.

Paying attention to the latest days supply report and average days supply in past years when there was discounting can deciding when the time is right to maybe get the best deal. Toyota still has the shortest days supply across the board. It would probably be a great time to buy a dodge...you might even buy one and get one free...lol

Yeah I got a pretty decent discount on a TRD OffRoad Premium, and drove 20 miles...

So out here in Metro Phoenix I see that Camelback has 34 on the lot.
Big Two Toyota has like 14.
AutoNation Tempe has 80 ( not sure if actually in stock ).

When I bought my 2021 Camelback had about 4.
Big Two Toyota had none for weeks and weeks.
    AutoNation had about a dozen.
The third-gens sold as soon as they hit the lot.

All of these Gen4's have a starting number of 4 in the price -
I think the cost, plus interest rates, plus people waiting for the verdict on the Gen4's is going to force Toyota to make deals.

The point I was trying to make is that vehicles have gotten substantially more expensive. Manufacturers give us loans so we can get nicer cars.

In 1970, the average NEW car was $3,450. The average individual income in the US was $9400/year. This is 36% of their annual income. People didn't get loans for a car back then.

In 2022 the average US income was $37,500. If cars aligned with 2022 income, the average new car would be $13,700.

Ford and Chevy have proven that as of 2023, they can make more profits for investors by selling less vehicles at a higher price. My guess is that Toyota is trying to do the same.

Housing costs, auto prices and college tuition are all out-of-wack. It’s all related to the feds manipulation of the prevailing market interest rates. They were too low for too long. When 2008 happened mainly because their actions, they just doubled down on it.

the day of reckoning will come soon.

It's not just the US though. It's worldwide
