    Yeah.
That's not a subsidy to put fewer cylinders into a truck.

I understand, however incentive is incentive.

    Yeah.
True, but I was commenting on the guy in the video saying that they get subsidies for putting smaller engines in a truck. There are no incentives tied to that, only CAFE requirements and EV development incentives.

That the public knows, Low labor cost, tax credits and NAFTA deals is a big motivator outside of stated Subs. ( hear say at best)

The problem won't be with the motor. The problem won't even necessarily be the turbos either. The problem with turbocharged motors is making sure you are METICULOUS with oil changes. So much in fact If it were me buying one I would throw that 10k oil change interval out the window and go every 5k. Oil changes are what kill turbos ( turbos generate more heat , oil breaks down faster than NA, throw in all the small variations in different oil brands and how long they hold up , types of filters used , etc) so if you buy this truck new and are a 5k oil change type of person likely will see no issues. If you buy one of these used however ...... better get all the oil change records with it. What I think we will end up seeing later on is used taco turbo trucks that are deemed "less reliable" because the general public will either neglect proper maintenance or they may just follow the 10k mile change advice and the turbos react poorly to that. Toyota had some of the same issues I'm talking about in the 80s with the 22rte motor . That's why it only lasted like 2 model years.

Edit: I find the 4 cylinder vs v6 thing kind of comical though considering toyota trucks ROOTS are the 22re 4 banger lol

So 2 things....I just asked a truckdriver to estimate how many Tacos are sitting in his port. Will report back. I am curious if there are a ton being held back.

And this is interesting. Looks like they are going to throttle the Tundras.

I "finally" got my Tacoma back today, and while I was picking it up at my not large dealership, they had new Tundra's wrapped completely around the dealership lot waiting to be sold. I was like WTF

Yeah unfortunately my entire grill shutter assembly had to be replaced, but there were none available in the country because everyone is burning them up.

Maybe they should be disabled open, or completely removed from the system.

I made it 2,800 miles, but I was literally waiting to get hit by it. Not a good feeling to have when you pay $50k for a new truck.
