They got it last year. And money very well spent, in hindsight.

Every time I jump behind the wheel of my 2016 4Runner Trail Premium, I think the same thing.

    But I still want a black 2024 Tacoma Pro…

I recently saw a video with a different perspective on newly released models from the quality perspective. Manufacturers are always looking to save a buck and if they find that some aspect of the vehicle’s initial construction, such as insulation, or screws, nuts/bolts, etc, don’t elicit customer complaints, over the years, they may reduce the amount of those things to save a few cents per vehicle. So sometimes the launch vehicles are better built than later years.

I thought it was an interesting perspective. Something to think about.

I'm not a fan of the red interior. I think they did this in 22-23' as well. Already looks dated and don't think it will age well in 10 years compared to a neutral or black / grey color.

I just bought a new Trailblazer (and will keep my 3rd gen Taco) and out the door it was less than 25K. If I'd gotten one that was as loaded as possible it would have been 30K out the door. The only advantage tacos have over my new SUV is that it has a bed. I've never thought a truck bed was justifiably worth 30K.

It's crazy. Why would I pay 45/60K for a "truck" that lacks truck capability and gets such bad fuel milage... and is less truck than the prior iteration?

And just to put it out there... are these frames going to rust out like the last ones?

What a strange line of comparisons. You can get a Tacoma for low 30's. What's up with the truck quotes you keep using? It's a truck. How is it any less of a truck than a third gen? But congrats on the new Chevy, hope you enjoy it.

I checked out some 4g’s at my local dealer today. There must have been 10 or more. (Edit, there are 60 available on their website, probably across several dealers)

After sitting in one and checking it out up close, I’m really digging the 4g, even with the busyness. I’m hoping it will turn out to be a good, reliable truck.

    I saw a nice SR5 4x4 DC for around $46k. ($40k + $3k SR5 package + $1500k in distributor junk + freight.)

A couple of them were marked down around $4k in the windows, but I think they were TRD’s.

The upgrade prices on these seem excessive, imho. The SR5 upgrade package ($3k) consisted only of a leather trimmed steering wheel, the JBL audio with BT speaker, a trailer brake controller and the sliding rear window. And the non-removable distributor add-ons kind of further ruin the value proposition, imho.

I’m hoping APRs will go down at least in the next year.

I’m sitting here at a restaurant in Tahoe city and I’m seeing 4th gens drive by about every 10 minutes.

After driving on a fresh tank of gas for a little over a hundred miles I'm showing 41.9mpg. I will accept your condolences with grace.

What are you paying for gas?

Coming into a truck forum to compare gas mileage with your 3 cylinder is just odd.

My JD 630 gets 4 miles per gallon pulling the baler @ it's top speed of 12.5 mph. Thought I'd throw that out there since we're comparing apples to unicorns. :D

It is weird. You buy a 1.3 liter 3 cylinder micro SUV and post in a truck forum about it.

I’m sure there’s a Chevy forum somewhere for you to hang out. Have fun.

Your comparing apples to oranges here.... There are a ton of vehicles on the road that get better fuel economy than all of the mid-size trucks.

What about the 4th gen Tacoma lacks "truck capability"?

Your caparison here makes no sense.... plus you bought a little baby SUV designed for old women that will struggle to make it to 50k without a major mechanical failure.

I know... it's really really tough to go back and reread the first post... and then actually think about what it says. The point just went right over your head because you got stuck on your own misinterpretation so it's just hard (whimper).
