Reading comprehension is not your strong suit lol. Stop twisting what I say to try and fit your narrative. This is the 3rd time in this thread alone you have done this.

Again, you can't read. Show me where I said research has to involve participation in forums... I SAID, googling will point you to a forum meaning it gives someone ability to read threads about what ever topic was searched on google. Doesn't mean everyone need to start an account and argure with people about a vehicle they have never owned lol.

Do you do this weird shit on other forums?

This coming from the guy who doesn't own a 3rd gen and posts constantly on "turd gen" things. The irony is as astonishing as your lack of awareness.

Do people think that trucks should be priced based on their size? Or weight? Or payload?

The cost to develop and manufacture one versus the other is quite similar. They all have the same basic components, requiring virtually the same labor to assemble. Ignoring trims and optional features, etc.

For a company like Ford, they get to amortize the development costs over a much larger number of units with the F150 versus the Ranger. Same for GM. Which further closes the cost delta between the large and mid trucks..

That's why Toyota designed the TNGA-F platform the 24 Tacoma is on. its shared with many other vehicles like the Tundra as iit helps spread out the development costs.

and a faster roi on the cost spent across 4-5 models instead of just 1 model like it typically is.

Exactly, if my memory is right there is like 8 or 9 global vehicles sharing the platform with the Tacoma.
