    Hey TW,

My wife and I took a trip from Bavaria Germany to Normandy France to see what our brave Soldiers did on D-Day. I must say it was an amazing experience.

With his high school marching band, my son, had the honor of playing there a few weeks back on the 75th anniversary. Opportunity and memories of a lifetime for him.

I’m proud to say that it wasn’t just another venue for him. He understood the gravity of the situation.

It's on my bucket list to visit there. Thanks for posting the awesome pictures. The French people still seem very appreciative of our (Allies).

We sent around 15 Paratroopers from my battalion to the 75th anniversary. They said it was one of the best times they have ever had.

I have read numerous books books about WW2. I found the engineering and building of of weapons, structures and the submarine pens extremely interesting. Fact: The Germans were on the verge of developing there own atomic weapon near the end of the war.

We are here now because of them. Deeply thankful to all that served, in all capacity, during that time.

Here are some photos of the German cemetery in Normandy. For every tombstone are two souls. 21,222 souls were laid to rest here. A majority were unknown soldiers and some foriegn allies in the war. Americans were buried here at one point but either moved to Normandy American Cemetery or returned to the states. Out of all the American Soldiers who were KIA and found in this war, 60% were returned to their homeland.

Great trip!!! Got the chance to take some of our ROTC Cadets in 12’. Seeing it all in person really puts it in perspective!

I’m jealous, been wanting to take my wife to re-experience it with her!!

I was very fortunate to share this with my family. To stand on the water's of Omaha beach and to look up and see what our Soldiers had to attack was a moving experience.

Very much so! If you ever make it back, the Ardenne Abby is humbling to see too.

Also the Caen museum, great place to see some of the risks the French resistance soldiers took allowing D-Day to be successful.

I'm surprised our tour didn't take us but with the 9 hours idk what else he could have covered. It was a very amazing experience but exhausting at the end of the day.
