Ok, since there is way too much confusion going on here, this is pulled straight from a 2015 owners manual.

So, of course The sticker on drivers sun visor says same as owners manual , Thanks you I just tried 4w system again, multiple times, it does go into H4 and drives fine no buzzer,, but it is obviously not going into L4 range, I get to step 3 in owners man. and it says try above steps again it keeps and beeping flashes and starts Dinging and telling me something is Wrong, I retried step 3 multiple times and it wont go into low range, When i am Driving it 15 mph in both L&H ranges its the same ~1500 RPMs, 4H is fine, no alarms i had tried it b4 2 weeks ago per instructions on visor to no avail, I am completely new to electric tcases, but have used manual ones for a Few yrs now, Almost 300K miles on my 1990 I have owned for 29 yrs (I know its not A TACOMA) and it never fails to shift into all gears and ranges, still going strong, but my 2015 it is not going into low range ,,, so back to dealer for warranty work, thanks for page from the manual..

Too fast to shift into 4L.

Need to stop, N, shift to 4L. May need to roll slightly to assist engagement.

Are you shifting into 4hi, waiting a few seconds for it to fully engage, and THEN going into 4lo? It sounds like you are but it never hurts to ask.

It would be odd for it to shift in and out of 4hi fine but not into low, 99% of the time it's operator error. I'm not trying to call you an idiot or anything, just want to make sure our bases are covered and the truck is actually messing up.

I wasn't Going 15 when I shifted into L4, I was at stop in N. that's how I have shifted to L4 from a stop always, and then like you say roll along slowly and you would feel it engage, I don't feel the engagement it just stays in H4, I was referencing the lack of change to lower gears, when it did not go into L, RPM's should have went up if it was truly already in L4 range running 10-15 mph vs RPM's@ same speed in H4. I will take to dealer, Its got a 7yr 100K drivetrain warranty and 90 days B-B warranty, they can fix it

NP, its a legit question Yes I am driving it a bit in H4 just fine its in H4 I can tell... then I am stopping shift to N and push and turn knob to L4 and drive off, no change just alarm beeping and Low light in dash blinking, Its obviously telling me its malfunctioning I have been 4 wheeling for 40+ yrs, in 29 yrs my 1990 SR5 never saw the shop, Only my tools, hands and parts. I was just hoping it was something else silly as you say not a malfunctioning component , hopefully just a solenoid or something electrically simple, dealer time for this one.

Sure i will update, I'm used to manual mechanical stuff on trucks not this fancy electronic stuff . Just a quick background on truck , just bought it 10-23-20, Single owner Commercial Registered for work purposes like New CPO Certified PreOwned 2015 TRD OffRoad Silver Access cab longbed Auto 4.0 L 6 cyl 36,122 miles, 36KEasy miles, looks like it was never 4 wheeled, no rust, scratches, no dents, outside, underneath and inside like new, no scratches on skid plates or in Bed. Runs excellent, Locking Diff appears to be ok, I still have my 1990 4x4 Toy Truck, my first Toy was a 1981 4X4 White Straight axle truck..
Thinking about it,, I really think it was never put into L4 range possibly, or not much at all. Truck was clearly kept in garage and well taken care of. Good Stock, candidate for personalizing.

Odd. You do sound like you know what youre doing though, especially with the very slow rolling back and forth to get it to engage.

Do you hear the unique 4Lo 'whine' from the t-case while its beeping? RPM may not be a great indicator because the trans may be in a different gear

Just tried 4lo again a couple times, on 2nd try, It's working now, not sure what's different but like things point:,, It must be engaged in 4Hi, The Sm green Icon of 2Axles/4hi In Dash, must stop blinking, Which is when the tcase engages the front end as you ease along in FOR or Rev. then MUST stop , be in N and just push/turn to 4lo and, when its quiet you can clearly hear the the ADD solenoid or motor run and click/engage 4lo in tcase..(This sound does not happen in 4hi)... The engagement is very calm in this truck, In my 1990 you know when it clunks into 4hi or 4lo or out of either, you feel it with your hand.
Thanks for all the advice, and HUMOR from some.. StayinStock and others My father was a very funny man, RIP Pops.

And to you and yours as well, Thanks.
Random ? would you happen to know if there are speaker wires in rear doors of 2015 TRD offroad access cab long bed, there are no speakers and the door panel is not louvered for speaker sound , i see multiple wires (3-5 hard to tell) going into my rear doors, i would assume 2 would be unused spkr wires hopefully i have seen other access cabs with speakers in rear doors. Maybe the offroad ver does not have the rear spkrs. Also the balance Rear fader fades to nothing to rear!! but they adverise it has 6 speakers, i count 4 up front..
I was going to just lay or mount 2 small speakers in Boxs/Cabinets in access cab area and run wires to them from the doors. I guess i can ask in another post, not sure how to do a thorough search in TC for info on this subject??

I suspect that the wires you see are for the power window and door locks..

Im sure if you made a new thread in the 2nd gen section, someone would know for sure
