Need some helpful tips on 2wd to 4wd conversion. How much would it cost and what parts do I need.

Sell your truck and buy a 4x4... thats how much it will cost.

Or, go to a junk yard, buy a 4x4 frame, t-case, front axle, transmission, any electronics and wire harnesses that go with it.

I’m trying to do this for both my Tacoma and GMC Sierra. With the Sierra the guy I got it from converted it into a 2wd and left the front differential in tact and took out the t-case and just had a really big driveshaft going to the transmission.

I can take pictures soon and show y’all what I mean. I believe it won’t be too bad bc the Sierra was already a 4wd in the first place.

2003 for the Tacoma and 2004 for the Sierra.

The 03-04 uses an updated transmission without a cable but electronic controlled solenoid valve. So more harness, more connectors.

Also 03-04 has electric throttle body, that part of harness is different as well.

You can't even share with the 4runner because the 4runner had a gen change in 2003 rather than updating the 5vz platform.
