Interesting... While my highway miles aren't a lot in daily driving they are usually not over 70 mph. However, I use the AC most of the time... I once heard that modern car ACs are more efficient and actually save gas vs. 4 windows down and the loss of smooth air flow that turbulance causes...?

    Thanks for your input!

See my post: 30,000 mile service report. I just put up the photos of my spark plugs that were in the truck... 3 NGK and 3 Denso is what they do at the factory...

16-17 mostly streets. Sometimes worse due to my lead foot. Just got the lift and tires so waiting to see how badly that affects it.

I get 16.5 summer mix, 15.7 winter. I hardly drive on highway though, mostly all city and mountain driving.

The AC comes on with the defroster (to de-humidify the air)... Does anyone run a defroster the entire time they drive, however? I use it rarely and it clears my widows in seconds!

Seriously, is the Great White North always at 40 below??? I thought BC had a warm micro climate aka the Canadian Tropics! ??

Oh, I see I typo'd above... I meant 'windows'... I don't have any widows (yet)! LOL

Unless you drive in 4WD low range as a normal daily driving habit, A-TRAC does not come into play here. Sorry!

Any 2005-2012, DC 4WD V-6 is what we are comparing here.

18.5 to 19.5 highway or city. finally averaged 20.85 on a 190 mile non-stop trip driving 65-70mph on one occasion. However i only have about 1800 miles on odometer.

I have been getting 20 - 22 with just daily driving. I haven't had a chance to take it on a 100% highway trip. I have been going real easy on this tank, coasting to stops and stuff like that and I think I am going to hit 23 or 24.

I just did my 2nd fill up and I got 14.1L/100 km. I'm still on break in so I know that the gas milage is going to get better, I just have to wait. I love the fuelly app, it's great.
I'm trying to add the fuelly to the bottom where my sig is and I am not sure if I did it right or not. If someone can help me that would be great.

Go to your recent fill ups where it shows your last 10 tanks. At the bottom of the list, there is a small bar with icons on it. Click on the icon that looks like a small yellow shield. Then copy the BBC code and paste it into your signature on TW. If you're confused, go to fuelly FAQ's and there's a link that tells you what to do.

So far, 19-20 mpg is in 1st place, then 16-17 mpg is next (my typical average). I just hope those voting 21 or more mpg are being honest and that is an typical daily figure and not just a one time freak figure.

I had new plugs put in last week, and had only used a bit over 1 gallon (18 miles) when I got to Toyota. I topped off yesterday with 10 gallons (ie. almost a half tank) and my mileage was a dissapointing 14.9 mpg.

Hmm, is there a way to retract your vote? I didn't see it was for double cabs only.

In the summer I get 17-18 mpg in congested highway driving. Switched between Shell and Exxon 91 octane and noticed a negligible 0.2 mpg difference when averaged over 8 tanks each. Last fill-up took in 16.6 gal and the odometer rolled 286.3 miles over the previous fill-up, so 17.2 mpg.

The reason I spec'd for 'double cabs' was just so there is a near common reference point. I also spec'd 4WD, Automatics and V-6. However, I think an access cab weight is close enough to a double cab, that your one vote isn't a problem! Thank you and your coments seem honest and reasonable as to your mileage.

My first Tacoma was an Xtra Cab... 2001. That was before they added the 2 'mini doors' and changed the name to Access Cab in '05 with the bigger overall body style for all Tacoma models.
