    I'll share my $0.02

I have 1,800 miles on the ODO, that being said I haven't had many fills ups but I have been keeping track of all my tanks MPG.

    Stock tires:
    1st: 17.7 mpg
    2nd: 19.5
    3rd: 20.1
    4th: 18.9
    5th: 20.5

Put some BFGs on 265/60/17 my first fill up was today and it was dead even at 18 mpg.

This is a mix of 40 mph for 5 miles then 55 mph for 5 miles then 70 mph for 12 miles. I don't get up to that speed quick at all, RPMs shift between 1.5 2k.
I have a 2011 double cab short bed 4wd. I'm expecting to get a little worse gas mileage when I spend 2 weeks on my ranch at open season next month where I need the 4wd to get around.

Sorry again for the triple post here but I thought it was necessary to inform you all that I've only used shell brand gasoline.

I'm glad that we have Chinooks. I would freeze my ass off all winter if we didn't get some warm days.

It should be noted that I'm getting 20 mpg under the same conditions with the Subaru Impreza 2.5L NA. EPA city estimates are 16 mpg for the Taco and 20 mpg for the Impreza, so I'm doing better than expected with the truck.

Is that a good thing or the only thing you can buy in that part of Texas is Dutch gasoline? Just kidding... we have Royal Dutch Shell gasoline here in SoCal as well... along with Chevron, 76, Mobil, & ARCO for the major brands.

Well I'm in southeast Houston so I've got plenty of options. I actually work at the Exxonmobil refinery and hate all upper management there so much, I don't want them to pay me money then me pay them back to fill up lol. As for major brands, exxon, shell, valero, citgo, Murphy.. There's more I just can't think of them.

Thanks for that... we also have Valero, Citgo at 7-11 stores, only a few Exxon. Texaco used to be here, but all or nearly all gone now. Costco sells gas and is popular. I just thought you found that Shell gave you better mileage, so that's why ai went into the brand thing.

I stopped using Costco and ARCO (the cheapest two brands) because of the ethynol content perception (their pumps are labled as containing 10% ethynol). It always seemed I got lower mileage after using those brands.

Mobil and Chevron don't have those lables, and I once saw my milage increase after using them. Alas, no matter where, my mileage has remained low the past couple of months. New plugs went in last week, so I am hoping for an improvement.

For sure the gas in California is full of things that are not gasoline, like ethynol and other stupid stuff that makes us burn more fuel in the name of less pollution... huh?

My mileage is always better in Mexico using Pemex (the one and only brand in Mexico). The problem in Mexico is not all stations have honest pumps. One station owned by a friend is honest, and 225 miles south of Tijuana (the border) at El Rosario. So, I use the liters figure from fill ups at his station.

I also get better mileage when it is pure highway... 17 to 18. Stop and goes around town really are the killer, even if I am careful and don't race away fron the stop.

Because I only once got over 19 mpg, on Pemex... I have real wonder how other trucks like mine (4WD DC AUTO V6) are getting so much better AVERAGE DAILY mileage... and wondering if the 21-22+ figures reported are honest. Like who cares what you are getting, but lets have an accurate benchmark!

I live at near sea level... and mostly stay under 500 feet for daily drives. Our mountains in San Diego permit driving to 7,000 feet (Mt. Laguna) and 5,000 feet (Mt. Palomar).. and if you take the 2 hour drive to the desert, you will be going up to 4,000 feet then back down to near Sea Level in the desert... We have the ocean/ beaches, hills and valleys, pine forest mountains and cactus covered desert all in one county and all within an hour or 2 drive... oh, then there is Baja California, Mexico, next door!

right now around town i normally average around 18.3-18.5 MPG with 265/60/18 tires and 18" BBS wheels. I am installing 285/70/17 BFG KM2 and 17" Fuel Hostage wheels in about 2 weeks. Ill post the MPG Difference.

I've checked mine, miles/gallons every month since I purchased
it and it's always at least 19, again, depending on how much I stomp
on it and w/ the cai, this week will be a nice test. :) The ONLY gas
I use is at Kroger, the grocery store here, all cars have ran nicely
on it and it's 1/2 mile away and on the way to work.

Can't imagine who would lie about the milage they get, kind of a
strange thing to lie about but you never know some will say whatever
just to go along with the crowd.

I average 18.6 for most fill ups. I've gotten up to 20.1 one time - all highway though. That's using whatever gas is most convenient.

I am getting around 19-20 over here in north carolina with 0 hills and only one stop sign and red light to get to work(10 miles). I would say average speed every day is betweeen 50-55mph.... i hope that when i get back to SD my mileage stays the same but i am doubting it. When i left san deigo with my F250 6.0 i averaged 10-11 when i got here to NC i got about 3-4 mpg more.
