4wd feels tight

    I've seen it on GM before but nothing else.
    But I'd rather just not take the risk lol.

    It doesnt take that much for the tires to just slip...even on pavement. Its not great for it and it could potentially break something but its rare.

    depends on the tires
    I know my all terrains let go on pavement easier than my winters do due to the tread. There's technically less rubber in contact with the road since the thread blocks are big/deep.

    Just doesn't seem worth it though. Maybe if towing but for regular driving see no point in the added fuel loss for running it in 4hi when conditions are fine.

    Regarding the occasional use of 4wd, just find a nice stretch of highway and engage it as you’re on the entrance ramp.

    Just remember to turn it back to 2wd on the exit ramp
