    Makes sense now, thx. I guess upside to front actuator is less wear on gears/ shaft, downside is a point of failure for engagement.

    Don't forget , not having to jump out of the truck and get the dirt and grit out of your locking hub so that you can turn the freakin' thing. Then you jump back in the truck to get through that tough part, but now the trail is narrow. You would like to go around the big tree in 4x2, but there is a lot of mud right here. Agh fughetaboutit. I'll go 4x2 when I air up again. RATARTATATATATA!

    So kind of like the actuator all US manufacturers abandoned in the early 90s because after years of use they become unreliable.

    Please tell me my 2006 doesnt have this garbage.

    Its an open diff, 4x4 you'll still be able to turn just fine.
