Did you try coming to a complete stop, switching it back to 4WD, then to 2WD and slowly rolling forward or backwards a few feet? You might feel a slight lurch, and it should shift.

Is it in 2wd and the light is still on?
Or will it refuse to get out of 4wd?

Try resetting the ECU. Disconnect battery for the night. Connect it in the morning and see if that fixes the problem. If not, I'd make an appointment with the service department.

Huh, thats weird...if it was still in 4x4 it should stay solid but flashing indicates it thinks you want to go into 4wd but it won't for some reason.

Have you tried re-engaging 4wd to see if it'll engage? Hopefully it does otherwise it may mean somethings wrong with your 4wd system.

edit: @303tacoma beat me to it

In that case I wouldn't. I'd make sure I was able to physically show them the light.

What kind of terrain were you on when you went off-roading today? Did you happen to drive on any pavement or solid surface with 4wd still engaged? It happens, it can be easy to forget you're in 4hi when you jump back on the main road (happened to me before, luckily it didn't result in any damage). Just trying to think of reasons why it would go haywire especially on a brand new truck. New vehicles these days have so many safety features that I wouldn't be surprised if it sensed something like that and set off a code of some sort. Regardless, fortunately the warranty should cover it. At least you aren't stuck in 4lo or something lol.

My brother (2nd gen) has had his light stuck flashing before. He found some loose terrain (soft dirt) and just switch from 2wd to 4 hi and low over and over back and forth and after ending on 2wd one time it finally released 4wd.

Does the owners manual say anything about a flashing 4wd light being a failure warning?
