Hey yall, I know this isn't directly tacoma related, but I dont know where else to ask, so I got a mk2 supra, which uses the same w series transmissions as some tacomas, and I know they made a 4wd version of said transmission, im wondering what the actual difference between the 2 is, whether it would bolt up to the 5/7m the same way a regular w59 is, and if I were to be redoing the suspension and knuckles and all that to do a 5 lug conversion and modernize the suspension, how un viable it would be, i seem to have come to the conclusion that the stronger r series 4wd transmissions are not as compatible as the r154 is, something with the input shaft or bell housing, is the w59 manual the same or what?
    Thanks

Transmissions for 2wd and 4wd are the same. it's the addition of a transfer case that sends power to the front axle that makes 4wd or AWD. I don't know the specific answer to your question but the Supra is All Wheel Drive, not 4 wheel drive. There is a difference.

I was specifically wondering if the w59f bolts up the same way to the motor as the regular w59, or if there is a difference there between the 2
