Interesting. Maybe they exclude the part that seals the vent in a vacuum. I recall someone doing that with the OE vent by disassembling and reassembling.

    I’d rather have a 2-way than a stuck 1-way.
    Blown axle seals sucks.

Also, with a 1-way, if you sink a hot diff in cold water, it can potentially create a vacuum strong enough to suck water in from the pinion and axle seals.

All said, OP doesn’t need to worry about vents right now.
He needs to figure out what limit/signal switch is not working.

I think ill just replace my add next, my only concern is the shifting knob from 4l, 4h, and 2h doesn't do anything anymore so hopefully its not an issue with the electrical that runs to that.

Since it hasn’t been said in this thread, I feel the need to say that you should never drive through water that is above the hood (albeit I assume you meant it splashed onto the hood). The air intake is just under the hood and if it sucks in a significant amount of water it can lead to a catastrophic engine failure called hydro lock.

In any case, I agree with the suggestions to check your front diff and transfer case actuators.

I totally read write over the comment about driving through water up to the hood... He could have any number of electrical issues, and yes, he's extremely lucky he didn't suck water in through his fender well where the intake is!!

**update** it was the add, I finally got around to putting the new one in which had water in it and replaced front and rear diff fluid while I was at it and just replacing the add fixed it. Thanks for all the advice here I appreciate it . No other issues since going through all that water, I should explain the water wasn't up to the hood probably halfway up the front grill and driving through it made it go up to the hood (still not good I know)
Also put on some clamps to the breather tube which suggest anyone who goes through any amount of water do it's super easy
