So the other day I went to use 4wd and I got no light and could feel it was not working. I could hear the transfer case do something though. After searching for troubleshooting this I tried a few things with no luck. I tried the hammer on the TC incase it was stuck. When I disconnect the plug on the TC the light comes on and blinks so I know the bulb works. When I disconnect the plug on the front actuator (TC still plugged in) and engage 4wd I get nothing. It’s a 04’ push button not a J shift so I believe it’s full electric and not the vacuum setup. Is there anything else I can do or test to make sure it’s the ADD actuator before dumping money on a new one? Or is it possible to remove the existing one and repair it somehow like the 2nd gens do by soldering the connections?

Just an idea, have you tried putting it into 4Lo? if it engages in 4Lo and 4x4 still don't work I would think its the ADD that would need to be replaced.

Replaced stock radio with a Pioneer AVH series head unit. Focal component system w/a 10" sub powered by 2 Alpine amps. Weathertech floor mats. Line-X'd the bed. SCS Ray 10’s, Installed an A.R.E. MX series camper shell. All-Pro Apex front bumper w/ All-Pro skid plates all the way back to the Trans. Low Range fuel skid plate.
This happened to me, only because I didn’t put it on in like a year. I ended up getting working, now I put it on at least once a week as preventative maintenance
