This is actually how I fulfill the recommendation from Toyota to drive about 10 miles/month to exercise the 4wd components on the truck. I have a few stretches in my area where I can easily get this done whenever we get a good rainstorm.

I use it on gravel when possible to exercise (i.e. fun!). Also, I have almost 500 ft of all hill gravel driveway with a bend in the middle. I am always in 4wd getting up, and leave it in that on the way out every time so as not to spin much uphill. I sometimes forget to go to 2 for a while when leaving if I'm fidgeting with the radio or flipping off an errant deer.

If I knew I'd like these OEMs enough long term.... I just got the truck this fall, and will be my first winter on these. Have to wait and see how they work for me. I know some tires are better than others, but I'm willing to try things out under my circumstances... plus didn't want to spend much more $$ right away until I knew I'd <not dis->like the truck enough to keep. Come spring I'll look into other stuff, and tires if necessary.....

    ... for 20$
