Didn't know that, always thought all of the few Prerunners running around here were imported. GLWS! Are you getting a 4x4 this time around?

In here 9 out of 10 trucks are 4x4. The few 2wd left are mostly from the 90's or early 2000's. There are a few 5 lugs, lots of AC 4x4's, but I would say the majority is DCLB 4x4.

Ya, most are 4x4. Rare to see a prerunner/xrunner, some 5 lugs around.

Want to get a white dcsb 4x4.

I have an 02 Tacoma Prerunner. 3.4 auto, rear locker and ECT. 6 lug. Sold brand new at Red Deer Toyota and its not an American import. Possibly a special order truck?

    4x4

This is my first 4wd. In the spring I had to put my 98 Jetta down. I treated that car like a truck and took it places a lot of Jettas haven't seen :) I figured it was time to get an actual truck again. I've got some building to do in the bush off of a pretty rough access road. I figured with 4x4 I shouldn't have much trouble getting in and out with a load, whether on trailer or bed. Because it's only a v6 I kinda figured the 4x4 might help take up a bit of the slack in a pinch... Also hope it helps in the snow, we'll see...

So far I'm loving it, it feels unstoppable. It's kind a funny though I'm a little afraid to use 4x4. The manual gives such stern warnings on not using 4x4 on flat pavement etc. I haven't experimented with 4low or locking rear diff yet.

don't worry - it pretty much is unstoppable :D 3" lift, aggressive tires, she'll take you almost anywhere!

lock up the 4wd every once in a while won't hurt.

    All stock!
Tried the truck out today in the parking lot at Mt Seymour. My Taco is on stock Dunlops. There was about 2 to 3 inches of snow on the ground. I tested it in 2H with Traction Control Off. It was useless in the snow. It spun most of the time and went no where unless you baby it, but just unsafe. I turned the Traction back on and it was better, but still spun. I switched it to 4H and it was awesome. No issues or spinning. Great control in 4H going down the hill as well. I switched it back to 2H when it got dry as I slowed down to about 25km/h.

I had no issues going up Sunday with fresh snow on the roads up to Seymour. There were 3 cars in the ditch. I came up to a quad cab Taco which swurved off the road a bit and was in the middle of backing up. I'm thinking she was in 2H and started to lose control.

So far, the Taco is awesome.

Mine is a 2010 and made in the states with kilometers on the dash .
Purchased second hand . Horrible in 2wheel drive but OK in 4x4 .
I suggest winter tires for lake runs
Atrac and the abs brakes are no good for Canada unless you drive like grandpa
