Reference a 4wd 2nd gen taco, are there sensors in the system that check to make sure that everything related is engaged/disengaged before the 4wd light comes on or off? In other words, if you engage 4wd and say a hub doesn't lock in, will the light just continue to flash? Or if you disengage and a hub or other component does not disengage, will the light not go out?

Reason I ask is because I was in 4wd the other day and went back to 2hi. The 4wd light went out like normal, but it was not until driving a bit farther that I heard a clunk like the hub/hubs were finally disengaging.

Just being anal/curious. Wow... that sounded bad. Lol.
