I have a 2005 Tacoma DC 4X4 and the 4WD is acting up. I can't get the 4WD to engage. The green light on the dash just flashes and nothing happens.

I tried to pull the actuator motor off the day (3 wiring harnesses and 3 bolts), but there's a shaft that goes into the transfer case and it would only pull out so far. Does anyone know how to get this sucker off? I opened up the actuator to see the gears and everything was clean. It seems like the motor is on it's way out...

Anyone have a similar problem? What was the fix?

    Thanks

Check the connection where the motor is solider. Make sure it's still connected. If so then maybe the motor is bad. Have to replace the actuator. Think it might be a 200 dollar part

And yes many people have this problem lol i was one of them. Somehow got water in it and killed the motor. Seems like a good sealed actuator.
