The manual says to that if you have manual locking hubs, to lock them once a month for 10 miles. What is the protocol for the 4WD system?

I actually found it online and this was info for the manual hubs. How often (and how far) does this need to be done for 4WD? Does the Manual Hubs need to be engaged? Does it matter whether it's 4H or 4L?

I do not own a 4wd but am curious if it is safe for the vehicle to do this on normal roads. I have hears that the system will bind up and potentially break. Is that only an issue if you were turning?
