I went with the 255s for lots of reasons. Larger than 265s, lighter than 285s, better traction in most situations than both.
No trimming/rubbing and yes I'll do it again if they ever wear out.
Great tires with great traction (only set of MTs I've owned). I only run them when going off road.
Most of the time I run the stock 245/75/16 Dungflops which will be replaced by 265/75/16 Dynapros when they wear out.

I'm currently waiting on a full set of Relentless skids & hybrid sliders with 2 piece kickout. Good thing I'm so busy with the new house it makes the wait easier when you don't have time to go wheelin.

Nice build! And just out of curiosity how much did your shell cost you?

Your truck is probably my favorite on the forums.. It doesn't have the "coolest" stuff but for some reason I just love it! Simple and functional! Good job

Thanks Drew. Will it still be your favorite when I get some "cool stuff" because I have a full set of skids & some sliders with kickouts on order with Relentless and hope to get them soon.

It'll still be one of my favorites :) I just like the access cab bases! The black flares and grill look so good!

Yes I alwas liked the Silver & Black look and was lucky they had my 1st choice of color.
It was the only 4x4 4banger 5speed AC at the 3 stealerships in our area.

Yes but at least you have a release date.
After you get out of school you get a life sentence without the possibility of parole.

We had a blast at Sand Mountain. The Can-Am Maverick is 101HP of pure fun.
Chris decided she didn't want to drive & didn't want to ride with me (she thought I might get a little crazy with it). She was going to go with the lady of the quad rider couple we met while waiting for our turn. Since the lady didn't hop in one in time she lost the driver seat to someone else. So the lady ended up riding with me & Chris rode with her husband. The tires were over inflated & I made the mistake of getting one of the two with accessories (this one had a soft top, stereo, GPS, mirror, extra lights on top & in front as well as skidplates). When I did the test fit of the tripod (on a base model) I had it setup to look over the roll cage. After I strapped it to the one I drove I realized it had lights on top so I lowered it and the rear view mirror was in the way.
I got it over 55MPH and would have gone faster if there wasn't someone in the way. Got it airborne a couple of times.
This thing is fast with plenty of power, handles great & is very comfortable.
Maybe when we are done remodeling the house we"ll get one.

you know, ive been bouncing back and forth between the 255s and 285's for my taco, but after looking at your pics for about the 100th time, I think I'm gonna go with the 255 KM2's once I get some cash saved up. I think theyll look pretty good on mine especially with the trail team rims

I think the 285s would be a bit too much for a 4Banger without a regear.
Do the FJ Trail Team's also have 4.5" BS?

Yes, they do. I haven't seen any 255s on the trail teams yet but I bet they look real good. I think having that extra backspacing is necessary for the skinny tires- I've seen a few on reg cabs without the backspacing (there's a red one on the 255 thread) and they look crappy. I'm basically down to choosing the 285 version of the A/T I have now (52 lbs) ~ $800 or the 255 KM2's (55 lbs). ~$1100. The looks of the km2s are unbeatable but I also like the width of 285s. we'll see what happens

Well I have to report I spun my tires for the first time on Saturday.
I was leading the way up a mountain through virgin snow. The snow wasn't bad on the open flat spots but the uphill spots were 1' to 2' deep. The good news is that the 265s, 285s, 33"x12.5"s & 35"s behind me were also having problems. I lead up to 7400ft and at that point I sugested that a locked V6 would make a better snowplow/lead than my 4banger open/open. When Jason took the lead up to 7900ft and I was 3rd in line I had no problems.
The pics of mine don't show what we were going through because I was leading and picked a good spot to stop. Not much snow on the open flat spots but the uphills were a different story. You can see in some of the other pics some of what we were dealing with. We got up over 7900ft.

Very nice. I'm from the opposite corner of the state. Love Sheridan though.

Hope this helps. They are great in my situation, - 1 to 2 MPGs on hilly hwy & + 1 to 2 MPGs on flat hwy. They work great off road in all situations.

Well for my truck's first birthday it got new tires & wheels.
For my truck's second birthday it's getting a full set of skids & some hybrid sliders with two piece kick outs from Relentless.
The skids are done and sitting in Eric's office & he said the sliders will be done this week but I wont have a chance for him to weld them on until next week.
Maybe it will get a bumper & winch for it's third birthday.
