hey guys, so I'm doing a SAS with a diamond housing on an 04' double cab. this morning i started mocking up the link brackets and the angles don't seem right. does this look off to anyone else? I'm planning on running helms so these links are temporary but it doesn't look right to me, this is my first 3-link and I'm doing it all by myself so any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same kit for the DS drop Diamond. Mine is Brian's prototype and have been through quite a bit to dial it in.
What is the width of the axle? Mine is @ 62". It appears your link tab needs to be moved inwards. Do you have an extracab, RC or 4 door?

I can get measurements for you if needed.

Trust me, once dialed in, his kit is awesome.

... also, his kit was originally designed for a PS drop @ 65" WMS width. I had to rotate my DS link bracket inwards 13 degrees which cured some of my issues.

Let me know... I can save you some time and head scratching.

Just re-read your original post. 4 door confirmed. Are you a 4wd originally?
What is your OEM wheel base?

yep its a 4 door, it was a pre-runner that was converted to 4x4. WMS i think is 63 but i have to check (i travel for work so I'm not home much). rotating the bracket seems like a good idea I'm just hoping i can get it to work without too much modification to the brackets. I would be very interested to know your link lengths and placement dimensions of the mounts to compare with what i have mocked up. Ritchie i have read your build thread and your truck is awesome, thanks for offering some advice. i can't wait to finish my truck, most of the hard work is finished just need to do the front axle suspension and some small stuff. The truck already has a supercharger and i am installing marlins dual ultimate cases too

finally finished her up, still need to add the hydro assist steering, sliders, crawl box and a few other things but I’m driving it and it works great. I am pretty disappointed with the 4WU kit (I know everyone is going to disagree with me) but whatever, it’s finished now. The kit took a lot of modification to work and the customer service was absolutely terrible, if i ever meet him he isn’t going to like it. I’m just glad I can finally enjoy my truck!

If anyone is interested, I used Alcan spring to make me some custom rear springs and 12” fox adjustable shocks in the rear custom valve’d from downsouth motorsports. The rear flexes as much as the front and it rides super stable. Those are 37” coopers with no rub.

Looks good man... a bit tall from the pics. What is the frame height?
How much lift with the Alcans?

What issues did you have? Brian’s a busy man but he’s always done well with answering questions about suspension setups and hooking me up with his tuned c/os. I’ve been inspired by all of his work.

7” lift with #250 of gear, they are a little shy of that though. Frame is 26.5” empty, 1” or so lower loaded. The truck performs great for what I wanted, overland and snow wheeling.

It’s almost like he sent me the wrong kit... I dunno. And getting answers took weeks with having to ask several times, I just gave up eventually.

There’s nothing he can say at this point and I’m over it so I don’t care to talk about that aspect of this thread anymore.

I know you said you're over it but would you go into more detail? If you'd prefer to keep it to PM that's fine

I was just looking at the 4WU kit for my 96 ext cab

No instructions until after being asked numerous times, no communication about the order, parts were very late, axle was weeks behind what I was told, numerous missing welds on the brackets, the angles didn’t line up well on the axle brackets, directions outline measurements that don’t work... that’s what I can remember off the top of my head. I have a bad memory so that’s a lot lol. I’m not trying to bash 4WU since everyone has a hard on for their stuff but you asked. I kinda wish I had never said anything I’m sure people are going to try defending him now so I’m out of it. Good luck.

That is pretty frustrating, especially when you're paying for the kit with the expectation that the geometry is figured out and everything is supposed to fit

Truck looks good. That height will probably be great. I was all happy that I built a low rider until I took it wheeling and I wish I was higher, getting beached on evreything sucks. The reality is the tacoma is so damn long its pretty stable and needs that height.
