I want a winch, just not always hanging off the truck. Wisconsin winters are hard on everything and I cannot imagine how short the life span of a winch would be here. As such I planned to install a front receiver and wire the truck front and rear for a winch plate that I can take with me and remove when not in use. Did this on my last truck in Nevada and it was awesome-don't have a stolen winch story etc... The only catch is I also wanted my Cali Raised light bar to stay in its location in the lower grill. 4x Innovations installs their receiver on top of the bar in that location... so when I ordered the assembly I asked that they NOT weld on the receiver components and that I would at a later date. They were cool with that and sent the frame assembly with receiver parts separate.

Disassembly is easy and takes all of about ten minutes. There are several videos using a Google search. Another half hour and every thing has been disassembled, assembled mocked and ready to cut. The factory aluminum cross bar needed to be notched and this took about 40 minutes.

Now it was time to mock up the bumper, and make a hole for the receiver. Scary!

And... It fits like a champ! The actual receiver part is 6" to short so I am going to locate another one and get this welded together later this week.

4x includes a nice license plate holder that goes in the receiver, so none of this will be seem-just like now with everything buttoned back up
