It's been a while since I checked in here. Good to see the thread is working for you guys. Thanks to https://www.tacomaworld.com/members/bartmaster1234.195197/ for sharing the info he has come across. I have decided to go with the Detroit Trutracs front and rear and regearing to 4.56. This has slowed me down a bit due to cost but will be worth it in the end. Still in need of the A340F and transfer case but I have a w59 trans and j shift transfer case that I am going to sell to help offset my costs. I will be posting a for sale post with a bunch of my extra stuff this weekend. Carry on guys and thanks again to all who are helping us put our trucks together the way we want them.

How's yours going along?

 

Just still collecting parts. @foxrcing07 went to Reno this weekend, he was able to pick up my steering knuckles and hubs for me. I should be able to start re-finishing them as soon as we meet up. I'm also going to look in to having gussets built for them.

I'm just taking it slow... have plenty of other things on the truck going on.

 

Quick question... are all 4x4 crossmembers the same on 1st gens, regardless of 6cyl/4cyl

 

Yeah should be. The mount is what's different.

Do you have a front diff?

 

Yes. I just need the manual jackshaft. I prefer not doing the whole hose clamp thing.

I'm still gathering parts as well. Having a hard time finding an A340F and matching transfer case. My drive shafts are on there way to me this week. My front diff is built with 4.56 gears and True Trac guts. Just waiting on cash to get my rear diff built with the same. Doing a bunch of cleaning and painting of parts already gathered.

Here's kind of a feeler post. Figured here was a good place to post because most everyone seems to be in the market for swap items.

Here's a list of what I need for the swap.
Manual jackshaft
Non-ADD (for 6 cyl) J-shift T-case
A340F Trans (I have an '02 truck)
Front drive shaft (6cyl/auto length)
CVs for manual hubs
Crossmember
Trans mounts

I think that's it. If anyone sees some of these items up for grabs (obviously if you don't need them) let me know. I'd greatly appreciate it.
