    Hi all,
Okay so i spoke to my dealership service manager (great guy BTW Steve @ SpradleyBarr Cheyenne) about this and he cant figure this out and before i drive the 1.3 hours to the dealer i thought i should go to the source for thoughts....
I recently threw my truck into 4H for about 30 seconds while driving @ 15MPH. Switched it back and the green 4X4 dash light has been blinking now for 3 days????

Tried neutral shift, reverse, putting it back into 4H and back into 2WD etc.. and no luck
    Thanks folks

Instead of talking to the sales manager, take it into the service department and let a real tech look at it. It may be something simple that they can do there. You may have a poor pin fit somewhere. The vehicle is new and I'm assuming under factory warranty. Right? Unless you have abused the vehicle in some way, it will be covered.

This. Then straight to the dealer. You could pay a local mechanic to take a look and see what he thinks. If it needs repair, then maybe take it to the dealer?

This happened to another guy on here. He ended up needing a solenoid replaced.

    TJ,

Where did you use 4H? Dry pavement or loose roads like snow, mud, gravel, or rain?
If you did it on dry pavement and made sharp turns, you could have binding issues.

When I got my new 1st Gen Taco 4x4, I made this mistake that led to binding. I had this same issue where the 4x4 lights would just continue to flash. What fixed it for me was, putting the drive back 2H and turning the steering wheel hard while moving. Heard a loud "thunk" noise (guessing from transfer case disconnection) and the light went away.
I called the dealership the next day about hard steering while in 4H and that's when I was educated about 4x4 binding problem and to avoid hard surface roads when using 4H.

Try this with other earlier recommendations. If you still have this issue, your 1.3hr trip to the dealership is inevitable.

    UPDATE:
So, after putting my truck into 4H for 15-20 seconds on a flat dirt road my 4X4 green light would not stop blinking when i put it back into 2W. Took to shop and they said the below "Actuator Limit Switch " was bad and the part is ordered. They said mechanically the trucks 4x4 system is engaging and good its just the electrical sensor thats bad BUT today we had snow and i put it into 4H and got a flashing yellow triangle and a notice on my dash LCD stating "4 wheel drive from 2W to 4H did not function-a malfunction has occurred"?!?!?!
    Ughhh

If I read your report correctly it appears they unplugged the actuator, but doesn't state they plugged back in. If that's the case that may be causing the error message yoy saw this morning. I'm just guessing as I am not that familiar with this system, I'm used to actual shift levers for engaging 4 wheel drive. By looking you can tell if it's unplugged.

Hope the dealer fix this problem soon. Your truck is too new to have this recurring issue.
