For the hell of it, I did a search of every thread on this entire forum and found 181 posts where the term "understeer" was used (back to March of 2009).

I didn't read every one, but people do use the term understeer in the generic sense, rather than specifically referring to the powered front wheels.

So I call Uncle on this one.

Here's a good explanation I guess we can all use:

"Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall, torque is how far you take the wall with you."

    LOL, that's a good one :D
On an episode of Top Gear, Hammond explained it with a similar analogy.
I think it was something like "with understeer, you slide off the road and crash head on into a tree and die. With understeer, you slide off the road and crash backwards into the tree and die.

Rich wrote that quoted post and he was joking

Hey , what the fuck does Martin Brundle know about understeer or oversteer , he's just a former F1 driver and SKY TV's F1 commentator

Pugga, everytime I look at your picture I imagine the wires behind your truck are attached to it and a hot air balloon that is about to take your truck on some crazy adventure.

    Thats all, nothing of relevance.

Didn't know I had to leave my name, thought it was automatic. So I'll say it here - Up yours, dude. I didn't like the "little mind" comment.

BTW, I did have to call Uncle on this one. I get carried away sometimes defending my position and don't deal with criticism well.

Well yeah... how do you think the mall crawler made it to the top of the hill? :D

Just so you know, the 'in your own little mind' comment was a sarcastic comment, I use it all the time and it's not meant to be insulting. If you took it that way, I apologize, tone is lost over the interwebz.

One of my favorite quotes is, "You win some, you lose some, you wreck some." (Earnhardt, Sr. I believe) Should be my sig. Covers all the bases.

So, in this thread, I have to admit it was wreck. I did start off well, but understeered riiiiiiigghht into the wall.
