    The super doody still uses manual locking hubs...

    I didn't notice much MPG gain in my 99 tac with manual hubs
    I kept them locked most of the time unless going on a long trip

    I had an 02 and remember reading about the hubs on NPORA. Although many people ran them on those trucks, i believe there was concern with lubricating the front diff when the hubs were "unlocked". I believe on those Pathfinders, the rotation of the front drive shafts drove the pump or something which kept them lubed up. Unlocking the hubs would cause the shafts to not rotate and no longer supply oil to the diff. I don't think it ever caused catastrophic failure for anyone, but people always brought it up. Plus, if you forget to unlock them and throw your truck into 4HI, you are gonna hear some shit break lol
