When I tried switching my Tacoma from 2Lo to 4Hi. I have the warranty but with family being in town I don't have time to take it to the dealership. Any ideas as to why its doing that? Also, the 4wd light keeps blinking and when I switch it back to 2 Hi it continues to blink.

You left a key part out, what is it doing?

    Is it just the blinking?

First, you don't have 2Lo. Second, put it in neutral and try on flat ground to see if 4hi will engage.

Read the little card thingy on your visor, it'll tell you the correct steps to put it in to 4wd.

That is all that is happening. Usually you hear the click of the 4wd engaging but all it does is blink. I've read the card and the manual and I have tried every way I could think of, at a stop with the truck in neutral, accelerating, decelerating, maintaining speed etc. When I move the switch over the only thing that happens is the light blinks.

turn your engine off but keep the key on so all the electronics work. then flip the swtich from 2 to 4 and back to 2. do you hear a tiny motor or any clicks at all? the actuator may not even be moving

    Stock for now
If you have tried and followed all the instructions per the card & manual it might be your actuator.
Mine went @ 16k no warning same conditions you describe.
    Dealer fixed under warranty.
    It just blinked not stop.
I was able once, just once to get to go into 4LO then that was it. Replaced part, truck now has 52k no issues.
    Good luck

Sounds like your actuator is failing. The only thing I can think of it to back up a little, engage your switch to 4 Hi and go forward.
