My indicator light on dash for 4x4 quit working, sometimes it works but most of the time it don't. Does anyone know where the switch that turns it on is located ? This is on a 1995 2.7 automatic.

Its going to be on the top of the transfer case were the 4x4 shifter go's in. Assuming its manual hubs.

4wd is definitely engaging, just the indicator isn't lighting up?

I assume it's working, but not sure, it just started doing this recently, I put it in 4x4 when I go to check on cattle in hilly pasture field, not so much to keep from getting stuck, but to prevent tearing up field from spinning rear wheels. It worked ok in the last snow we had. I don't have manual locking hubs, and don't see any solenoids on the back side of hubs, so I assume the hubs stay locked all the time.

You have ADD front locking differential then. In a 1995 thought those all were manual hubs, hmmm

my 95 has add too. there is another sensing switch on the back of front diff. 4x4 will still work with this one not functioning but will NOT work if the switch on transfer case isnt working.
