I drove my 2wd pre runner (no locker) on the beach in Fla last week. Rear wheel hope was very bad. I saw some pro comp tractions bars. Has anyone tried them out?

I put a set on a friends truck, and they seem to have helped alot with axel hop. Personally, I use the axel hop as a barometer for how much throttle Im useing/wasting. When I start getting hop, I back off the throttle. If that doesnt work, it means I have gone where 4x4 is needed. :)

all I know is that 4x2 your pushing a lot more weight, 4x4 your pushing and grabbing.... Easier to grab, then push. Make any sense..?

yup! That's why FWD cars get around easier in winter. Easier to pull and have the rear follow than push from the rear and keep the front on course.

After years of off-roading in CA, WY, MT, OR, UT, AZ, and Mexico I must say that I would never even consider for one second buying a 2-wheel drive Tacoma,

...but that is just me, and 2-wheel drive would never suit my lifestyle,

    ...not even in summer

...I could not imagine trying to drive a 2-wheel drive in slippery, snowy, or hilly conditions, ...at least not the slippery and hilly conditions I encounter on a regular basis,

...but if 2-wheel drove suits your driving style, ENJOY!

Well let me put it this way. Even if you have a 4x4, without front and rear lockers, then it is really still a 2WD. If you have a 2WD with a locker, then it is a true 2WD. That 2WD without a locker is a 1WD. If you want to have a true 4WD, then you need to be locked front and rear.

I did it again. Got tired of paying truck payments and gas and traded in for a 2015 Honda Accord Sport since I enjoyed my 2013 Sport so much.
I'm having fun with this thread.

Gives me something to read when it's slow at work.

I just want to point out that my Prerunner goes Off Road more than most 4x4s.

    Sure, I'd love to have a 4x4 TRD O/R. But I don't, I wheel what I got, and I love doing so.

since this thread has gone in complete cirlces at least 30 times since it was started. it's a stupid thread in the first place. Plus, my new found sobriety automatically makes me more reasonable than all you idiots. I'm the new sober voice or reason for TW
