What happens to the not spinning wheel when the traction control system applies the brake to the spinning wheel?

Congrats on the new truck and welcome to the forum.
What was your buddy doing while you were pulling? There are lots of dos and dont's when pulling. 3 years ago, while up at our place near Brek, I must have pulled out over 10 vehicles stuck in ditches full of snow and one that couldn't get out of it's on driveway. But I was using this beast, which has a bit more torque.

Direction of pull matters as well; in the circumstance described, best bet is pull back out they way they went in. Reducing the drag, friction by digging out the snow under the vehicle is going make a big difference in how much force/energy is needed to get them out.

Hi everyone! We were trying to get a GMC Sierra out of a ditch. I was his last ditch effort to try to get it out lol. I also did not have good traction on the road (5inches on the road during a storm) And thanks to everyone congratulating me on the truck! Absolutely love it.

No but hopefully this was an opportunity to see why people install lockers front and or rear.

When me tuna boat was stuck in the mud on our trailer I had a bitch of a time pulling it out and onto the street with 4 low and open diffs . It was 2 Wheel Drive at best lol. If all 4 wheels were crawling , might have got it out . Actually no not even that would’ve pulled it out, I remember now . it was stuck because I used the floor jack to change one of the trailer tires and forgot to lower the floor jack so the entire boat and trailer was still up in the air on one side with the floor jack stuck in the mud. Lol. I think I eventually just bent the shit out of the floor jack pulling it all forward. Dohhhh.

Agreed. Also, I always make the other person hook the strap to their own truck, this way they can’t blame me when their bumper or something else cracks.

Tires make a difference in SNOW!

    for the win!

Pull out the way they went in, unless that's up hill.

The "shaking" was likely the "Electronic Locking Differential", which is actually a wheel speed sensor controlled add on to the anti lock brake system.

When pulling on snow, LIMIT wheel spin as much as you can. Small jerks are better than sitting there making ice at the tire contact spot.

My neighbor managed to bury a 300C in my yard last winter, it took 4 Low, the Locker, and A-TRAC before l was able to get enough traction to pull him out.

The shaking could have also been axle hop. My truck is very prone to that in certain snow conditions. Traction control just makes noise and maybe a slight vibration.
